That is it. Also I am pretty sure I can get out of my contract from comcast and was wondering if anyone has any experience with a ISP called Century Link. Would you recommend their internet or no? I literally have no idea how to make this better, it is so bad to play cod on I want to hang myself with my scuf cable.
Zennon
You have a few wild jitter jumps in that test yes, this will most likly be down to ISP congestion/contention. You could show them your diagnostics also run the free for 30 days pro version of ping plotter pro https://www.pingplotter.com/ Type 8.8.8.8 in to target and press go. Most ISP's will say its fine, it is for down loaders and surfers but not for gaming.

tjl118
This ping graph is not even close to stable - how do i share it on here?
Zennon
http://wiki.netduma.com/doku.php?id=how_do_i_take_a_screen_shot Then at the bottom of the page it shows you how to uploaded it to the site. No I am not saying your screwed, just hammer them with proof until they do something or change ISP.

tjl118
Last question. Would a ISP that is DSL be a better option than cable (The ping graph is my comcast connection which I get 118/24)? I will forsure get lower speeds if i switch but will the DSL be more stable than cable? The DSL provider says that it is "fiber at the block" connection or something like that. They use the phone lines to get the internet into my house.
Zennon
I would ask people that live in your area how DSL is and if you know any ask them to run ping plotter at their address. I would personally go with DSL over fibre if it meant I could game. Speed that ISP's call it is just width of band so more travels at the same time, its all going at the same speed (ping) whether you have 5mb or 5gb download. fuzzy clam
Check out the fantastic graph from ping plotter Damn that's some serious spikes. Like Z has said either present them with the proof and if nothing is done switch ISP's.You can have more bandwidth but if it's unstable then all it does is move more unstable info at a time but it's still unstable. tjl118
Well I do have good news. I just found out that the only fiber company in Minnesota will be installing fiber this coming summer on my block. This is not fiber at the corner but rather an actual fiber line to my house and 1 gig is only going to 75 or half a gig for 65 a month. This is great news but i have to wait, I can't pay 200 a month for garbage anymore. If you are curious as to which company and would like to check them out, they are USinternet. I have spoken with them before and can also offer better customer service than any of these other companies who are clearly all about profit and not about a quality product
