High ping when sliders in congestion control set to 100%

Recommended Posts

Hey guys when I set my netduma router to 100% on both congestion control sliders (Upload and Download) for an extended period of time I am experiencing a really high ping. I mean my ping is like 150- 200 its insane I was wondering whats up.I have tested it multiple times top be sure. It starts out at a normal ping then sky rockets.

Does rebooting the router or modem only fixes the problem temporarily?  And does the issue happen during increased data usage Ii.e. streaming netflix)? I believe it is conflict with the chipset in the modem but only Netduma can answer this. They will be back Monday morning.

I dont live with my mom please think before you respond. I was trying 100% to see how my network would react with all the new devices added as of recently. I should be able to run 100% and not have a ping of 200

Touche, was suggesting using the CC and making your console the top priority, make everything else a low amount

I was experiencing the same thing.  I also noticed that I was getting inconsistent downloads and uploads when running speed tests.  I also had the Motola SBG6580 modem that was provided by Time Warner Cable.  I ran several tests and noticed that I was getting the same results when plugged directly into the modem.    If you review some of the threads below, many talk about issues with EEE and the Broadcom chips.  The SBG6580 has the same Broadcom chipset. This may be causing part of the problem.  Because of this, I bought a Motorola  SB6141 (Texas Instrument chipset).  After swapping the modems, it was a night and day different in the consistency and I was also not seeing a much of ping spikes in BO3.
