Fazor Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Hey guys, wondering what I should do next. I live in Wisconsin USA and play B03 on my Xbox One. Seems like this game is very inconsistent for me, sometimes it plays OK, and other times I see the lag and I am slightly behind(more often this is the case). But my brother, who is just 30 miles north of me seems to have no problems and says the game plays fine the majority of the time. We typically have very similar K/D ratios and so far his is way better...so the connection must be different. AND I'm the one with the NetDuma!!! So it should be ME with the better connection! Anyway, I have not messed with moving my location. Is there any good servers that I should try to find near me.... or where do you suggest I move my location to and try? Also what settings should I use when I move my location? Currently I have about a 800 mile radius geofilter circle and use 32ms for the ping assist. I keep strict checked. When I put the ping assist down to zero it doesn't play any better or worse. So, any ideas of where would be best for me to move my location to and what settings then? Thanks.
PharmDawgg Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Try this. Now this is just a suggestion. Place your home icon in your actual home location. Make the range as small as possible. Find out your base ping( run Internet diagnosis and where it list your pings the base ping will be the average that is listed). Add 10 to your base ping and this will be your ping assist. Ok now reboot your router. It should save your settings. Do not enable the Geofilter until you get to where you are searching for a lobby. I'm all about the ping because sometimes you may have people close to you in location but terrible pings. Relay back out it works for you.
Fazor Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 Will do this Buck. My base ping is averaging 24.5... so I'll set my ping assist to 34. I'll go play some now and report later....if I can find a game with such a small geofilter. We will see. Thanks.
PharmDawgg Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Oh yeah go into settings >miscellaneous and click bleeding edge and cloud update.
Fazor Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 Tried it some, do have cloud and bleeding edge checked. This technique didnt work well. Got kicked out a lot, didn't connect, hosts leave games and just random errors with the game. Not sure if there is a problem with the servers currently or what. Does anyone know where a good server is in the USA? A reliable one that I could put my home location by. Would that be a good idea?
JConnor Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Since you live in WI, try the IL, or KA servers...
PharmDawgg Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Sorry this is for BO3? Xbox One? I live in Atlanta and I usually connect to the Kansas servers.
Fazor Posted November 27, 2015 Author Posted November 27, 2015 Yup, I've been connecting to the Kansas Servers also and I think that's the problem. I'm gonna try to block those if possible, see if that helps any. I just played on one and it was horrible.
Zero_Actual Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Put your home location over Texas and give those servers a try. They play the best for me and I live in Iowa.
Fazor Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 Zero, I will give Texas a try. How big should I keep my circle? And what ping assist do you think.
Netduma Staff Netduma Crossy Posted November 28, 2015 Netduma Staff Posted November 28, 2015 Zero, I will give Texas a try. How big should I keep my circle? And what ping assist do you think. Distance is usually set to the best range by pressing the snap button two times when the GeoFilter is as small as possible And PA is usually good at between 40-50.
Zero_Actual Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Fazor, I just put the radius as big as the state and set ping assist to zero.
Fazor Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 Thanks for the ideas. I will try these this weekend some time, and report back.
Taff Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 sounds crazy but i just put my ping assist all the way to 300, didnt seem to matter it still picked up good games. also had it nationwide strict on
Jman Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 I'm from Iowa also, i have been playing great games on an East coast server (PS4). I drop my GF (smallest radius possible) just off the East coast in the ocean and turn on PA to 25ms, strict mode on get games right away. Just tried this also last night by dropping GF into lake Michigan with the same results, but connected to a Chicago server. By doing this i find games right away and they are lag free.
fuzzy clam Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 I would definitely give the Illinois dedi's a shot, there is a huge bank of them.
Fazor Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 Well I've tried the Texas servers and they seem to work pretty good for me. Problem is though, tonight I couldn't connect to a game. It just wouldn't find a game. So I turned off the Duma and right away it connects me to those darn Kansas servers...and they are Horrible for me. After a while I was just moving my home location around. I was able to get games off the Seattle area servers, but they are usually pretty crappy too. I just don't understand why there is only 2 spots in the USA that work for me??? I thought anyone could be a host on these games. Now it seems like only 2 servers work! And they sorta suck! Hopefully I'll be able to get games tomorrow off the TX servers, cause if not it's not even worth playing this game.
