rustynailz
Hey guys just done the update only problem i have found so far is with device prioritization, im in auz and i have a fibre connection my speed is 100 down 40 up, when i reset and updated priorities and everything was fine i normally get about 98 down and 38 up using speed test.net however when i change priority to any device doesnt matter which one for eg my pc, my upload speed drops down to only 5Mbps i then tested this with changing priority to all different devices same outcome but when i reset and update so there all the same my speed is normal again any help would be appreciated

Set Algorithm to Reactive in the Congestion Control tab (cc) ... tick Share Excess d/load & upload bars set to 100% Untick 'Enable deep packet processing' in Settings> Misc ... then click Reboot Router on the same page. Yam Yam
Hey already dont that man did all those things first before posting I tried to replicate it on mine but it doesn't get affected like you explain. My ping rises slightly to other servers but thats it...
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 20, 2015 Administrators Share Posted November 20, 2015 Have you enabled turbo mode? Do you by any chance have PPPoE enabled?
rustynailz
Have you enabled turbo mode? Do you by any chance have PPPoE enabled? yes turbo mode was on no pppoe is disabled, when not using turbo mode it does not happen however i only get 50Mbps download when it is active i get my full speed
rustynailz
i have just done some more experimenting, last night when i first updated when turbo mode was not enabled i would only get speed of 50Mbps down and 25Mbps up when it was enabled it went back up to normal which was 98Mbps down 38Mbps up, however this morning i tried doing it all again and it seems to be working better when turbo mode is disabled iam getting 80Mbps down and 32 up which is an improvement then when i give say my pc more priority in the cc my speed was at 78down and 30up which is much better then yesterday but still not the speed it was at prior to the update, now i done the exact same things with turbo mode on and my speed was normal 98down 38up however the moment i give a device priority no matter which one my upload speed is the only thing that is changed it goes 98 down and 7 up it just all very weird for me
ColeJJones
I'm having the same problems. I have mine set to turbo as well. My internet speeds from the provider are 300 down 20 up. I tested with my router only and got around 312 down and 24 up. When I set my device prioritization to 100 for my PS4 and all other devices are set to , my speeds are barely at 5mbps down when tested on speedof.me on the PS4. When I distribute the devices evenly, my speeds go up to around 20mbps down.... My CC is 100/100. Why is my prioritization not giving me more speed to my PS4 when maxed out? I feel like it's not working or it isn't linked somehow.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 26, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 26, 2016 With your speeds you should be using turbo + super turbo mode which would mean you won't be able to use CC. Are you on super turbo? That may be the issue. Do you also have share excess enabled?
ColeJJones
Thanks! This fixed my speeds. Now, is this ideal for gaming or should I switch back to turbo mode and adjust my CC ?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 30, 2016 Administrators Share Posted June 30, 2016 It depends if you are getting a lot of spikes/jitter or if people frequently use the internet intensely. If so I would recommend switching back and using CC.
ColeJJones
I was getting a lot of jitter. I went back and set my CC settings. I have found that when I hit 'reset distribute' I get max speeds for all devices but when I set my device prioritization just a few ticks towards my PS4 my speeds on all my speeds drop drastically. I don't get it. Going from a 180 dl to a 5dl after a little device prioritization movement is crazy... no?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted July 3, 2016 Administrators Share Posted July 3, 2016 If it doesn't need the bandwidth, it won't take it. Gaming doesn't use much bandwidth at all. I'd recommend share excess on, that way any device can get what it needs and 70/70 anti-flood.
