Tomz03
I was just informed by Crossy that my issues of high ping, I've been experiencing, were due to the incompatibility of the Netduma with my modem Arris SB6183. This is apparently due to the EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) feature of said modem. Can anyone recommend a good modem, for the Netduma, which I could pick up at like a Best Buy or something here in the states? My ISP is Time Warner Cable. I can't wait to see how the Duma performs when it is working with a compatible modem!
II Z IE IR O II
I was just informed by Crossy that my issues of high ping, I've been experiencing, were due to the incompatibility of the Netduma with my modem Arris SB6183. This is apparently due to the EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) feature of said modem. Can anyone recommend a good modem, for the Netduma, which I could pick up at like a Best Buy or something here in the states? My ISP is Time Warner Cable. I can't wait to see how the Duma performs when it is working with a compatible modem! Go onto your area Time Warner website and see what modem/routers are compatible on their system. Each household is different as what features you have with Time Warner. If you go onto Arris website, it seems as though they now acquired Motorola Home and Internet Division. So you either have to use an Arris or SB modem. Netgear has a compatible modem too but it's for higher tier internet speeds. I too am with Time Warner so options are limited in my area. I have an Arris modem and have no issues with my R1. Just so you know, I just rent my modem because I also have digital phone service with Time Warner. Before my phone service though, I had a regular Arris wireless modem with no issues working in tandem with my R1. Your SB6183 used to be a Motorola modem. I believe the branding has changed only. I may be wrong. As for high ping, what is your ping number now? I live in Hawaii so my ping is around 65-70ms. That's the best I'll get considering I live in the middle of the ocean. Alex49H
I have Cox as my ISP but they sent me a Netgear CM400 to use instead of the Arris SB6183. The EEE is a major problem with this modem and recently I noticed it is just the modem. I unplugged my R1 to test the modem only and it has gotten worse. The chipset inside is by Broadcom so they are to blame for the problem. However they are releasing the SB6190 that contains parts made by TI and they have resolved the issue. It costs $149 and was on Amazon but I am waiting till the retailers get them so I can return my defective modem.

r8rs4lf
I used to have Time Warner and purchased my own modem. It's a Motorola SURFboard SB6183. They told me to get this one as it can handle the speeds I was getting. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MA5U1FW?keywords=motorola%20surfboard%20sb6183&qid=1445943764&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1 I don't use it anymore since switching to AT&T. If your interested, PM me. I still have the box and never even took the plastic off the front face of the modem. MODS, if I'm breaking any rules, please delete. Just trying to help out a fellow R1'er.

Tomz03
Yes, the Motorola Surfboard (SB6183) was the one I had the issue(s) with. I am now using a Ubee modem (DDM352) provided by my ISP. So far so good but I'm about to put a little stress on your Duma Fraser... Hopefully she can handle it under the right modem. Thanks you all for your all for your help guys. Blessed are the gamers, for they will inherit the earth.
