glaglaman
Hello, Since I'm encountering a few difficulties with my powerline adaptors (weak or erratic signal), I would like to have suggestions about something : I'm planning to move the netduma r1 in my room (where the most of the use of internet is ...) To do such thing I'm gonna pull an ethernet cable all around my house. I would like to know if the length of the CAT 6 ethernet cable is 30m between my sagemcom modem and the netduma will I have some lost in the signal ? (and so a bad connection). I'm planning to use all 4 ports of the netduma 2 xbox ones 1 ps4 and one sat tv decoder. (will the weakened signal make it unstabble ?) A good friend of mine told me that as long as I don't go over 50m I shouldn't have any losses in my signal, is that true ? Thanks by advance. Zennon
You can go to 100 meters without loss.
glaglaman
wow even with the poorest quality of cable existing the signal is emitting properly on 100 m ? PS : mine is quite great from what I'm used to buy (seems solid and the connector looks fine).
Zennon
Cat5e and Cat6 both go up to 100m
major masingil
Try a different outlet and make sure your adapters are plugged directly into the wall, not a power strip or surge protector. If the power wire you're hooked into has a lot of other outlets on the same wire or is long it will degrade your internet. The keys to power line adapters are trial and error and finding the shortest wire with the least interference from other equipment or appliances on it. I've already did that a few time at first I tought my adaptors were dead, but in fact no. I had a couple a them sealed in box ... I swapped them; And same result. The adresse of my router redirect me to me neighboor's router. So he might have the same standard powerline adaptor. So I'm studying the solution of pulling the cat 6 cable from my modem to the router directly in my room. No big deal but we might have to pierce trough 2 walls and one thinner wall. major masingil
A couple holes never hurt anything haha. You'll have a better connection if you're wired directly to the router anyway. Take care
glaglaman
Yes that's what I tought, and I "only" have to drill throught 2 walls and 1 thinner (not concrete) wall. So I'll find someone with a drill and tell you afterward what happened.
