Macca65 Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 As we appear to quite a diverse forum, nationality speaking, I am curious if anyone has a word in their language that means something completely different in another country e Eg Fanny in America is a word for your bum, behind, posterior, in the UK it can be a female name or a slang word for a females genetilia. I always have a little chuckle when I hear Americans say Fanny Pack, meaning bum bag
fuzzy clam Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 I got plenty of slang form the US but pretty sure I'd get banned if I were to start using it...
procreate Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 prick is used in the US. more so a few decades ago than now, havent heard it in a while. americans who wear fanny packs deserve a chuckle... though i do laugh about the british term for a smoke and its other association here in the US. you certainly dont go out for a fag in the US unless you are into that sort of thing.
toby jugs Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I guess that smoking fags would get you 25 to life in the usa lol
Dirty Dog Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I guess that smoking fags would get you 25 to life in the usa lol -LOL I believe that's still considered to be a 'recreational activity' in some states of the U.S.
procreate Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I guess that smoking fags would get you 25 to life in the usa lol Not at all, would make you quite popular in fact.
