dionsaur_ Posted October 15 Posted October 15 Not getting full speeds I am missing about 200 mbs I pay for a 1GB up and down I am wired from my gateway from xfinity to my duma to my pc
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 15 Administrators Posted October 15 Have you entered the speeds you paid for/expect? Where are you testing the speeds exactly? Are ALL devices connected to the R3 or do you still have some connected to the gateway?
dionsaur_ Posted October 18 Author Posted October 18 Yes I did enter the 1 GB speeds I pay for/expect, on my phone I get the full speeds it is connected to the gateway. I noticed my Ping average changed by +10ms so I tested the speeds to the duma I just have my pc wired to the duma and I have my other devices connected to the gateway from xfinity

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 18 Administrators Posted October 18 What do you get on speedtest.net? The in-built speedtest can be inaccurate at times. For the R3 to work most effectively ALL devices should be connected to it rather than the gateway. We'll need to update the Ping Heatmap via the cloud for the game, I'll let the team know, thanks for the report - it won't affect your ability to use the Geo-Filter.
dionsaur_ Posted October 18 Author Posted October 18 So these are the tests from my computer. Speedtest seems to be closer. On my phone that is connected to the gateway I get over 1000 mb over wifi though
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 19 Administrators Posted October 19 If you don't have ALL devices connected to the R3 then they can take speed away from the router so that's a likely cause. Also splitting the WiFi bands and connecting directly to 5GHz would help. dionsaur_ 1
dionsaur_ Posted October 19 Author Posted October 19 I did try putting the gateway in bridge mode and I was getting the same slower speeds Could it be my Ethernet cords? Might of degraded over time? Couldn’t tell you when I got them but they are cat8
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 20 Administrators Posted October 20 Did you split the bands? It's very unlikely to be your ethernet cables. It is expected to lose some speed just due to routing but you should be able to hit 950 max
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 21 Administrators Posted October 21 Okay you said you were getting over 1000 on your phone on the gateway, what are you getting wired from your PC directly to the gateway?
dionsaur_ Posted October 21 Author Posted October 21 That's my speeds from gateway to pc. way better speeds
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 22 Administrators Posted October 22 Okay thanks, the router is limited to 1000Mbps as is and the routing aspect will take at least 50Mbps off so the max you'd get is 950Mbps on the R3. How have you setup Congestion Control/SmartBOOST? dionsaur_ 1
dionsaur_ Posted October 22 Author Posted October 22 Ping optimizer put my congest on 95%. Smart boost I have nothing on it
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 23 Administrators Posted October 23 Put Congestion Control to 100%, what speeds do you get then?
dionsaur_ Posted October 24 Author Posted October 24 That's with CC on 100% same speeds pretty much if it's 95 or 100
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 24 Administrators Posted October 24 I think that will be the maximum you can achieve for the moment then. You could try swapping ethernet cables as you mentioned and putting the R3 in the gateway DMZ instead of using bridge mode but otherwise that's the maximum for now. dionsaur_ 1
