Recently came back on Warzone and am having endless trouble with getting the Geo-Filter to force me on to USA servers (I am from UK).

Tried first of with an old R1 I had laying spare. That didn't work. Thinking because it's just outdated I swapped my main router for the XR1000 at my parent's house. From setting it up it worked instantly, and was able to connect to East-Coast servers with no issue at all.

I then turned off my Xbox, set my Geo-Filter to West-Coast and I had the same issues as I did with the R1: Game would say searching for a match with sub 30ms ping, before going up into the high tens before eventually forcing me on to a EU server anyway. Note that with both routers do not show me the connected server in the Geo-Filter.

Connecting to a VPN via my laptop I can get servers on both sides of the US straight away, so given that fact it's apparent this isn't some ping-limit that Co-Pilot was making out (ping was as high as over 140ms on US Western servers.

To answer the inevitable I have: factory reset the router (XR1000),

De-added, and added back my Xbox to the Geo-Filter multiple times (Geo-Filter is set to on) and am 110% certain I am adding the right device,

Made sure strict mode is on, ping assist set to zero, resynced the cloud multiple times now. Auto-ping is off and fast-search I have toggled on and off with no effect,

Reset my Xbox by holding the power button, making my desired changes in Geo-Filter and then rebooting the game to no avail.

Looking at similar posts, it's clear other people have had a similar issue to this within the past year. Is this Activision trying their best to block IP addresses from connecting to servers they shouldn't be (hence VPNs seemingly working fine?), or is this an issue on the router side that is yet to be properly resolved?

Is there any workaround for this without having to connect my Xbox to my laptop to make use of a free USA VPN, or something outside the control of the Netduma software developers?

Double check the device you think your Xbox is has the same IP in the Device Manager as it does in the console network settings. If so,

  1. Quit the application/game/client completely
  2. Remove device from the Geo-Filter
  3. Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu
  4. Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter
  5. Set up the Geo-Filter how you like
  6. Wait 2 minutes
  7. Boot up application/game/client

It's essential the Geo-Filter is enabled before the game client or the game have been launched. If you change Geo-Filter settings when you're on the game then you will need to restart the game for those changes to take effect, otherwise it will use the previous Geo-Filter settings and appear not to be working.

As I said, I've already exhausted all solutions.

I booted the game up this evening and still the same.

Interestingly. the Geo-Filter displayed a server (IP 66.245.203.114) as being in the USA, although a look up returns it as being based in Italy, and the ping-times on the Geo-Filter reflect this.

It seems as if servers in Europe are listed down as being in the USA??

Title: COD Matchmaking Stuck / Won't Connect to Local Servers with Ping Assist 0ms (Netduma R3)

Hi,

I’m having an issue getting Call of Duty Multiplayer matches on local servers when keeping my latency low.

  • Router: Netduma R3

  • Game & Platform: Call of Duty Black Ops 7 (PS5)

  • Setup: Custom polygon covering ~6 local data centers (Finland, Sweden/Stockholm, Poland). Strict Mode tried both ON and OFF. Ping Assist is set to 0ms.

  • Problem: When Ping Assist is set to 0ms to force local servers (under 30ms ping), Multiplayer match search hangs indefinitely ("Searching for a match...") with 4 core game modes selected (TDM, KC, Domination, Hardpoint).

  • Note: This issue only occurs in Multiplayer. Other modes like Endgame and Zombies work fine and connect without issues.

  • Details: If I increase Ping Assist slightly, Multiplayer immediately finds matches on Central European servers (Frankfurt/Amsterdam), but the ping goes up to ~39ms, which I want to avoid. Account is completely clean (No Ban Detected on Activision page). Flushing cloud / resetting network hasn't helped.

Is COD matchmaking simply ignoring these 6 covered local nodes in Multiplayer in favor of Central Europe due to SBMM, or is there a specific DumaOS 4 / Geo-Filter setting I should adjust so the game actually routes into the allowed local polygon faster?

Thanks for any help!

I am a uk player too. I found BO7 is quite strict on letting you on them USA servers, MW3/Bo6 I manage to play on Atlanta/NYC servers but bo7 will only put me on Virginia/D.C server in private match (mp). It seems unless you have American based player as party leader the game fights you here.

Ensure you do a polygon around Ireland or whitelist the servers there - these are not gameplay servers, they appear to be auth servers. If my console can’t talk to them COD freaks out and won’t let me play.

Ensure Geolatency is disabled. Strict mode would need to be on.

From my own experience I only get Sweden for zombies or endgame. From my own testing, the game does prefer Paris and Frankfurt for gameplay. I know Poland is used occasionally for multiplayer. When you first open call of duty, before game servers appear you should see two servers appear in Ireland I would say true white listing these (they appear to be auth servers) if I don’t polygon Ireland my game can be weird.

SBMM may be an issue, but it could also be pop is lower on those servers. Effectively you connection times out to blocked server or your router shows the game you got 250+ making matchmaking avoid that.

Have you tried changing your dns on ps5 from isp default to cloudflare?

You're doing everything right and there is no setting preventing you from getting a game - there are similar servers such as Italy that don't always seem to be available but seem to come online in specific circumstances such as times of heavy population e.g. peak time or the weekend so that's very likely the case here. Essentially if you're forcing them and you definitely are because it's not letting you into anything outside your radius then it is the game stopping you connecting to them.
