Gregwx Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Hi! Long time reader - first time poster. First, I'm a fan of your product. I tested the R1, owned the XR500, and now R3. I truly admire the level of software optimization and how intuitive the implementation is; I understand that achieving this is no small feat. From a hardware perspective, it appears highly optimized. designing both hardware and software, is a key advantage. The integration of the 4-core CPU was particularly impressive. I appreciate this efficiency; it is frustrating to encounter gaming routers that rely on under-optimized, ARM processors bloatware-filled and excess memory simply to satisfy flashy marketing demands.. *cough cough* ASUS. I've had the R3 for a of month and I'm very happy with it. The improvements in GeoFilter 2.0 are excellent, and Steady Ping has truly enhanced my gaming experience by providing consistent performance. Given my geographical location, I often have to play on poorly connected servers, but Steady Ping has been a godsend, change my own claims from: "agh how is hitting me around the corner?!, -- my bullets don't make any damage!" to: "Oh wow, OK though I will loose that gunfight, -- OK I'm running sabot rounds now!". The only feature I would like to see is the ability to back up and restore the router's configuration. About the performance of the wireless network; I did notice a reduction in transmission power compared to the XR500. Which doesn't bother me, as a network integrator, I'm very aware that the days when a single router was enough for our wireless devices are over. Especially with the constant iterations and improvements in WiFi, it's easy to become obsolete. Besides, for current needs and where the market is heading: access points or home mesh systems are a proper solution. Anyway, I just wanted to share my experience and above all, thank the Netduma team for continuing to push this product, for making it so affordable with such unique features. Believe me, for those of us who have to import it, every saved penny counts, although honestly, the product is worth it. Muchas gracias y saludos desde México.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted 5 hours ago Administrators Posted 5 hours ago Thanks for posting about your experience, your kind words and your feedback! Backing up/restoring your config is something I'd like to see as well and it has been requested before so it is on a list for potential integration in the future.
