Mac Posted May 25 Posted May 25 PS5 says it is connected to the internet but some areas of the console fail to load for at least 5 seconds or not at all. First thing I always check is to see if PSN is down, but all day there has been no issues. Every time I do a ‘Test Connection’, all functions return. However, when I turn off/reboot console the same thing happens occurs again. I have factory reset both the console and the router but the same still happens. Changed Ethernet cable too but no joy. Have attached some photos for reference. I booted up the console again at 20:32:19 and have attached system log for your info. Thanks.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 25 Administrators Posted May 25 Disable IPv6 in WAN & LAN on the router and then see if the issue continues please
Mac Posted May 25 Author Posted May 25 That seems to have worked. Weird, the IPv6 has been connected to the console with no issues up until today. Does disabling IPv6 LAN/WAN make any difference with gaming /connection in general? Thanks.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 25 Administrators Posted May 25 Great! No it doesn't really make any difference, it makes getting an Open NAT easier but you can still get that with IPv4
Mac Posted May 25 Author Posted May 25 I see. Thanks for your swift response. Much appreciated 👍🏻 Netduma Fraser 1

My ISP has native IPv6 and I'm curious why it remains disabled after a factory reset— is there some conflict? Note that I have a fixed (public) IPv4 address. People who didn't have IPv6 were getting issues with it enabled so found it best to disable it by default. I think those original issues are largely resolved. In this instance I believe its actually an issue with the console having trouble when switching back and forth between IPv4/IPv6, other people have found this online as well regardless of router.
