rforce99 Posted April 21 Posted April 21 Hi Netduma Support, I’m experiencing an issue with my Netduma R3 where the Ethernet ports stop working after about 1–2 days of uptime. Here is what happens: The router works normally at first After 1–2 days, all devices connected via Ethernet lose internet access WiFi continues to work without any issues A reboot temporarily fixes the problem, but it comes back again after some time I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps: Updated to the latest firmware version Performed a full factory reset (without restoring any backup) Set up the router from scratch Tested multiple Ethernet ports Tested different Ethernet cables and devices Disabled IPv6 Increased the DHCP lease time to 10000 The issue still persists consistently. From what I can tell, it seems like either a DHCP issue or a software-related problem, since a reboot always restores functionality temporarily. Could you please advise on what might be causing this and if there is a fix or known issue? Thanks in advance.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 21 Administrators Posted April 21 I've given you Early Access where we've recently released a fairly large bug fix/QOL update that may help. https://forum.netduma.com/topic/60946-new-r3-firmware-dumaos-401147/ Upgrade to that and then if you still get the issue please get the logs when the issue next happens, before rebooting and we can take a look. rforce99 1
rforce99 Posted April 21 Author Posted April 21 Hi Fraser, unfortunately it did not fix the problem. Ethernet still went out. Wifi still works. Here are the logs minutes after it happend R3_2026-04-21T19_20_14.978Z_logs.txt
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 21 Administrators Posted April 21 What timestamp did it happen around? In Settings > DHCP > Add Rules > Select Device > Save. Do that each wired device you're noticing the disconnects/issues with. Then reboot the router from the interface, wait 4 minutes and see if it happens again please.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 21 Administrators Posted April 21 Thanks, could you remove your SmartBOOST priorities please and see if it continues? Other than what you've mentioned so far, what settings have you changed from their defaults?
rforce99 Posted April 22 Author Posted April 22 removed smartboost. At the moment only port forwarderd some ports on playstation for warzone. Most of it kept untouched after the factory reset
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 23 Administrators Posted April 23 Okay now you've set your reserved IPs disable DHCP altogether - only devices with reserved IPs will be able to connect so set it for other devices if needed first. Then reboot the router from the interface, wait 4 minutes before accessing then monitor. If it happens again get the logs please before the reboot, that should remove any false flags from DHCP and make it easier to spot the issue.
