Ceez Posted yesterday at 07:21 AM Posted yesterday at 07:21 AM My netduma r3 was working fine up until a month ago I started getting packet loss. I ran a ping plotter test to 8.8.8.8 and all hops are from 12%-20% packet loss. My modem from isp is on bridge mode. If I connect from my isp modem straight to pc I get 0 packet loss on all hops. I factory reset my netduma r3 turned on and off smart boost I tried everything I get packet loss if I use it. What is causing this issue???
KickJedi4YA Posted yesterday at 08:31 AM Posted yesterday at 08:31 AM Have you reset or checked if you have an update on your modem?

Where are you losing the packetloss in your pingplotter test? If its not in your house (with a 192 address) then it's down to your ISP to resolve.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 03:01 PM Administrators Posted yesterday at 03:01 PM You said the hops are showing packet loss but does the bottom graph show packet loss? Can you provide a screenshot of the results please? Based on what you said I'd suggest switching out the cable connecting the router to the modem as it may be a simple fix
Ceez Posted yesterday at 04:25 PM Author Posted yesterday at 04:25 PM Switched out cables still the same. No packet loss from my isp modem to my pc but if hook up isp modem + netduma r3 to my pc I get instant packet loss
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 04:53 PM Administrators Posted yesterday at 04:53 PM You've got the interval set too low, even PingPlotter themselves say that setting is likely to show packet loss. What do you get with the default 2.5?
Ceez Posted yesterday at 05:26 PM Author Posted yesterday at 05:26 PM I still get packet loss no matter what I set the interval. ISP modem to pc no packet loss. ISP modem to tp link router to pc in bridge mode no packet loss. ISP modem to netduma r3 to pc in bridge mode I get packet loss. It was never like that recently started
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 05:51 PM Administrators Posted yesterday at 05:51 PM Use a local website rather than google e.g. a news site and with the 2.5 interval what do you get? Can you post a 10 minute plot of that please?
Ceez Posted yesterday at 07:09 PM Author Posted yesterday at 07:09 PM I tried 1.1.1.1 still has packet loss I tried ping plotter dns still the same. I’ll post them all in about an hour. The issue is coming from netduma r3 because any other router I use no packet loss
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 07:55 PM Administrators Posted yesterday at 07:55 PM DNS get a lot of traffic, it would be better to use a more local website that doesn't get worldwide traffic. Okay thanks. How do you have Congestion Control set? Just to be clear, you're doing these via ethernet? Where was it that you were seeing packet loss originally? If you take the modem out of bridge and instead put the R3 in its DMZ do you get the same issue?
Ceez Posted yesterday at 08:05 PM Author Posted yesterday at 08:05 PM Yes I’m using Ethernet at all times. Originally before doing any ping plotter test I was playing call of duty and I felt like my bullets wasn’t registering and the game felt laggy. Now if I’m playing call of duty using netduma r3 I’m rubberbanding but if I connect straight to modem I get no lag in game
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted yesterday at 08:59 PM Administrators Posted yesterday at 08:59 PM Did the game specifically say you were experiencing packet loss? What was your ping, was it fluctuating a lot? How do you have Congestion Control set? If you take the modem out of bridge and instead put the R3 in its DMZ do you get the same issue?
DARKNESS Posted yesterday at 09:29 PM Posted yesterday at 09:29 PM @CeezIt's strange that you're not seeing the second hop, which could indicate an issue with the gateway. When you're connected directly to the modem or router, does hop 2 appear clearly?
Ceez Posted yesterday at 09:59 PM Author Posted yesterday at 09:59 PM ISP outage right now so I can’t test anything. Hop 2 doesn’t show because isp modem is in bridge mode so it bypasses. If I’m connected straight to isp router hop 1 is no longer 192.168.77.1 it show isp router 192.168.0.1
DARKNESS Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago @CeezThat makes sense. Then it would be hop 3, which shows packet loss. Are you also on the latest firmware? I would try what Fraser suggested, as well as for some reason some modem combo units don’t communicate well in bridge mode correctly, etc.
