Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 22 Administrators Share Posted April 22 The DNS you set wouldn't change if the IP changes. The router isn't changing an IP, it will be the ISP modem/router renewing the IP of the router. Set this as static/reserved on the ISP modem/router and that should resolve it. Otherwise please provide more information about what appears to be happening
New Netduma
I have to connect to a DNS => this DNS is register online with my public IP when i log into the website. My ISP modem/router is in bridge mode, i can't change the IP to static. In R3 i see i can put a static IP but i need to know the 2 DNS of my ISP. What can i do ? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 22 Administrators Share Posted April 22 Take it out of bridge and put the R3 WAN IP in its DMZ instead, then set that IP as static/reserved on the ISP modem/router and see if it performs better then. Some modem/bridge modes are not the best and I find the DMZ then works better. New Netduma

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 22 Administrators Share Posted April 22 And you've confirmed the WAN IP of the R3 hasn't changed? Reserve an IP address for the PlayStation on the R3 also then reboot the console
New Netduma
WAN IP of netduma didn't change, IP public did change, but i can't have an IP static from my ISP, i have to pay for this and it's only for companies not for usual people. Modem/router of ISP => static ip on NETDUMA + added to DMZ, i did before this happen again Netduma => static IP for my PS5 it was already set. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 22 Administrators Share Posted April 22 What DNS are you using specifically? Please get the logs from the R3 settings when the issue happens
New Netduma
It's a DNS of my VPN operator for my console, i dont see in the logs there's many many many errors inside
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 22 Administrators Share Posted April 22 Right okay so you're actually trying to use a VPN just by using the DNS? I'd say if it's happening every 30 minutes that's likely on the VPN side, nothing on the router happens like clock work that frequently. If you're going to use a VPN it would be best to use it with HybridVPN on the router. You can just download the logs and provide them here. New Netduma
The VPN on HybripVPN with OpenVPN give me strict NAT, can't found any game, only possible solution is by using a DNS, I was using this method before i have this Netduma R3 with my old Netgear nighthawk and never have any problem and zero disconnect before i use this Netduma... New Netduma
Fraser did you see what i send here ? I still have the problem and it's annoying
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 24 Administrators Share Posted April 24 Yes you would get strict/moderate NAT using a VPN, that's expected. If using a DNS address didn't give you an strict/moderate NAT then I would say that it wasn't really VPNing your connection at all. Google my ip with the DNS on default, then do the same with the DNS set, do they match? Are you able to connect the PlayStation via ethernet to see if it still happens? New Netduma
How do I use this with my NetDuma or NetGear NightHawk Router? If you have an Xbox console, you may need to disable IPV6 on your internet router as IPV6 cannot be disabled on an Xbox console itself. 1. Go to Settings -> WAN -> Network 2. Click to enable DNS Override 3. Enter your chosen country IP address as the Primary DNS. 4. Leave the Secondary DNS blank. 5. Click Save Settings. That's what the VPN provider say. My playstation is connected via Ethernet Cat 6A always. Something in the duma make me lost the connection every 30minutes ( PSN offline but still in game). Krush
Je pense que tu multiplies les VPN. Tu n’as plus besoin de faire cette manipulation sur ta PS si HVPN est configuré en amont!
New Netduma
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 24 Administrators Share Posted April 24 Try the steps I mentioned to see if the VPN actually applies or not
New Netduma
Fraser, the VPN with botlobbies with the DNS on my playstation applies, it locate me to the country where i want to be with a moderate and not a strict NAT. Then after 20-30 minutes everything except the game go offline
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 24 Administrators Share Posted April 24 Are you using the Geo-Filter at the same time? Going the DNS route it is applying to every single device in your home, if they are being used a lot it is possible you're overwhelming that connection. It would be a lot better to use HVPN and apply it just to your console
New Netduma
That's what i want to do .... But it give me STRICT NAT, i can't connect to a game with this, maybe you know a VPN service who offer a moderate NAT and work with the R3? Yes i use the GEO-Filter only for stable ping , the map circle cover all the world
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 24 Administrators Share Posted April 24 NAT matters more when trying to connect to other people, to connect to servers it does matter less. Do you have an Open NAT without the VPN? Not specifically no and the game is trying to prevent people using VPNs so I expect it will get harder. There is no control when using this DNS method, it could be it's timing out, which if it is there isn't anything you can do.
New Netduma
Yes i have an Open NAT without VPN. With hybrid i have strict and with DNS i have moderate... i found game with moderate but with strict i found nothing.
