Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted June 5 Administrators Share Posted June 5 @frontline1967have you tested that 70% for download/upload on Congestion Control are the ideal values for your connection? It sounds like you may need to adjust these further: Follow this guide https://support.netduma.com/frequently-asked-questions/legacyfaqs/test-your-ping/ while downloading & start with 95% for Congestion Control (set to Always), check results, decrease by 10%, check, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good & then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value & you may have a better experience with differing values. How do you have SmartBOOST setup specifically (not Congestion Control)? The NAT status can be impacted by the Geo-Filter blocking the server used to test the NAT status, it doesn't mean you're switching to moderate, it just means it can't read that it's open but it still will be open. To confirm, when it shows moderate, disable the Geo-Filter, reboot the game and check again. frontline1967
frontline1967
Thanks for your quick response! I have one more question: If I completely bypass the ISP modem and let the R3 handle both the PPPoE connection and VLAN tagging directly, how would that affect Geo-Filter and SmartBOOST? I tested this setup and it seems to work, but I’m wondering — Is putting the ISP modem in between the line and the R3 actually the most reliable scenario? The Geo-Filter it wouldn't affect at all, SmartBOOST it shouldn't affect either, the only sort of reports we've had concerning those two are disconnects with PPPoE, though not everyone is affected and should be fixed in the next Early Access firmware. There was also a report about speeds being reduced when using VLAN which I've let the team know. If you were to get these issues then yes it would be the most reliable, otherwise it doesn't really matter, the extra hop doesn't do much in terms of adding latency frontline1967
moot
I had to manually update my router. Despite restarting multiple times, the OTA update always failed with “Error downloading firmware”.

Kevin.pal
Have been experiencing some glitches with R3 Smartboost not saving or maybe not working properly Call of duty geo filter not working getting ping increases in game 40-200ms my connection is stable and my geo filter setting are where it should be paying for something that doesn’t really perform that well for me is very disappointing. I have used netduma for a very long time. I'm frustrated here ScreenRecording_06-13-2025 07-02-51_1.mov

I'm frustrated here On SmartBOOST you've removing the priorities and then switching screens way too fast, remove them, wait for the undo popups to disappear, then switch pages and back again and you'll see it has saved. Disable Ping Assist, that's why you're getting those higher pings.
DJAYY
Has the WPS option worked for anyone in this update? i cannot connect my google fiber extender, unless netduma is just not compatible with it.

Press the button once and then you have two minutes to set another device into WPS pairing mode, does it work then?

If this one, does the .645 version work better? Yes it can be a little unreliable which we're working on
DJAYY
Think im just on 4.0.540. No early access. Its the google fiber mesh extender which reddit seems to think will only work with the provided router from Google Fiber. https://fiber.google.com/blog/2024/08/stay-connected-with-mesh-extenders.html

Do you have another router to test it with perhaps to see if you have the same problem?
DJAYY
Unfortunately, i was unable to connect the extender after the firmware update. I tried a few times just in case WPS was being wonky. I currently don't have a third router to test with. I'm not sure if its 6 GHz compatible only and that's the issue.
