Jermsz Posted January 15 Posted January 15 So I have my modem connected an my R3 then that connected to my xr1000 in AP mode running then latest stable firmware. I was hoping to get the lastest beta FW for the XR1000. My question is would that matter or make a difference at all? Right now I have to reboot my XR1000 every day or so because the wifi will slow to a crawl so I was hoping the lastest beta would fix that. Not sure if it actually will though since dpi and priorization are happening on the R3. Let me know. Thanks!
DARKNESS Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I believe your issue isn’t software-related but with Wi-Fi channels. You should find an uncongested channel because using a congested one can cause slow speeds and connection problems. The software won’t do anything since you’re using it as an AP. All handling is done through the R3 except for Wi-Fi options, which are separate. You need to log in to the IP address your R3 gave it. Use a Wi-Fi analyzer to find the best channel: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=abdelrahman.wifianalyzerpro&hl=en_US
Jermsz Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 I've actually been using this to find the best channel as I thought the same thing. It helped with my 5G band but the issue is still present in the 2.4 band.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 16 Administrators Posted January 16 With the XR1000 in AP mode DumaOS is essentially disabled so it's unlikely upgrading to the beta version would resolve this for you (it's also been removed for the moment). When the WiFi goes slow have you checked to see whether the speeds are as expected directly connected to the R3?
Jermsz Posted January 16 Author Posted January 16 I'll run a speed test on my R3 next time the 2.4 band goes down and report back. I haven't experienced speed fluctuations before but maybe that's what's been happening all along and I never noticed? Doesn't explain how my 5G band is still up and running though. Regardless I'll test it and let you know.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 16 Administrators Posted January 16 Potentially yes, always best to check!
