R3 Best settings for call of duty bo6 on pc?

Recommended Posts

Just got the r3 as the xr1000 does not feel good. What is the optimal setup for competitive bo6, or how do I find the optimal setup for me as I suppose it will be different for everyone please?

It will be different for everyone, the best thing to do is experiment with the settings and play games, monitor how it feels with this setting set in this specific way and adjust from there.

The simple answer though really is as always, Geo-Filter to get the closest servers to you - Congestion Control at a level that eliminates any lag caused by all devices on the network being used. SmartBOOST prioritizing what you care about.

What is the model of the modem/router the R3 is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the R3? E.g. R3 in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode

Sorry to hear you're having that experience, I'd suggest making a new topic and we can help you there

Glad to hear they're having a good experience, if we're not given the opportunity to help we can't unfortunately. It's a router that requires fine tuning and experimentation to find what works best, it may require a bit more effort but the pay off will be better.

I totally understand and appreciate that some people may not want to tinker very much. It would be remiss of me not to try and get people to use the router for the reason they bought it in the first place and most often if someone doesn't use it anymore it's because the settings are too much or not fully understood and that's where I come in :)

Im only getting 500-600 download on the router for some reason, just done the firmware update

What speeds are you expecting/pay for? Have you factory reset after the update?

  • Are ALL devices connected to the R3?
  • How have you setup Congestion Control?
  • How have you setup SmartBOOST?

Plusnet Hub 2.

I only have my pc connected through ethernet, I will be adding my phone and laptop using wifi.

Congestion control is set up by doing the auto ping optimisation. I had it on always, but now I have put it to auto.

SmartBOOST was set to just gaming, but now I have just added call of duty and removed gaming to see if that is better.

The plusnet hub two is connected to the fibre modem on the wall using ethernet. Hub 2 is in bridge mode and connected into the r3s blue ethernet port. Then r3 is connected to my pc by etehrnet. All cat8 cables.

Okay that's all good - speed test bypass should be on as well so as long as you're not seeing any prioritized activity at the time the speed test should be as expected
