Westy147
Everytime I'm on call of duty all I get is waiting for relay and in network setting relay disconnected
PharmDawgg
Just a couple of suggestions the relay may be being blocked. Fix 1. Enable GeoLatency ( I don't do this because it increases my ping too much). I leave it off honestly. 2. Turn off geofiltering and wait until you are in game but not searching for a lobby. Then enable geofiltering. This seems to be a work around for me. I am hoping this is what is causing your issue. Hope this helps. Zippy

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 19 Administrators Share Posted November 19 Check direct to your modem/router, do you get the same issue?

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 19 Administrators Share Posted November 19 When you're able to, do downgrade and let us know if the issue continues

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted November 21 Administrators Share Posted November 21 Just to clarify, you said you have a port forwarding rule on your modem? You don't need that and could be causing conflicts, the R3 should be in the DMZ on your modem and then no port forwarding rules on the modem - then see if you have the issue through the R3
InternetIsNice
I get the same relay disconnected issue which causes my game to go to the title screen and say "waiting for relay" every so often. Here's the game screen: I have port forwarding in my router to open my NAT. Should I disable port forwarding and turn on DMZ? Or is that something for a router/modem combo? *(I have a fiber optic ONT that I direct into with my router and haven't customized anything on that as I'm not sure how to). Yesterday I uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game, deleted all port forwarding and reset my firewall, reinstalled and set the firewall port forwarding rules, added them back to the router again, and I had zero issues. Today booting up I see that I have the issues again and just learned to look for the "Relay Disconnected" bit.

Do not DMZ your PC, that's a major security risk, what are the port forwarding rules you're using exactly? Your PC IP may be changing and so your port forward rules may not be applying, double check that. Also test with the Geo-Filter disabled to see if it still happens. I have geo-filter disabled at all times, honestly. If I have it on while in ranked I noticed that it penalizes my teammates with huge SR losses after we complete a match, since my router rejecting all the matches before us joining end up counting for them... but not me (never told them lol). I have my PC internal IP address on a static route. These are my port forwarding rules:
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 14 Administrators Share Posted December 14 What is the static route you've done as that's probably why you're having the error
InternetIsNice
I don't have any static routes enabled. However, I did just try: 1. Turning off port forwarding and nothing. 2. Turning off port forward and UPnP, nothing. 3. Turning on port forwarding with UPnP off, and I see this now:
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 14 Administrators Share Posted December 14 Sorry, what did you mean by "I have my PC internal IP address on a static route." then? Do you mean you made a reserved/static IP for it? What about port forwarding off and UPnP on? It may be you're trying to port forward a conflicting port that UPnP is opening and vice versa, you should only need one of them enabled
InternetIsNice
By static I mean that I've reserved an internal IP address for my PC *edit: (in the DHCP settings). Clarification on what I did in what order to make it work: 1. Left UPnP on, turned off port forwarding. Still had "relay disconnected". 2. Turned off both UPnP and port forwarding, still relay disconnected. 3. Turning on port forwarding with UPnP off, and the relay connected.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 14 Administrators Share Posted December 14 Gotcha, thanks. What ports are UPnP trying to open when you have that on?

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 15 Administrators Share Posted December 15 It should show on the UPnP page
