Ethernet port (1) / access to internet not working?

Okay. I have reserved .171 presently it’s 5Ghz at least. All weekend it was stuck in 2.4 … Is there any way to reserve IP through the LAN or is that a free steps beyond me as I’m receiving “no connection” status from both the R3 and the XSX whenever I putatively connect the (2) devices?

Did you get the log directly after the disconnect or after the disconnect once you'd done a reboot? Seems like it's after a reboot.

Have you applied HybridVPN to the devices you're having trouble with?

Yes you can do that, if the router reads them as connected to the ports (check the LAN page) then they will appear on the Device Manager - they may not have an IP address but you will be able to see the MAC address, match that to your device and you can reserve an IP as normal on the router.

You could also set a static IP on the devices themselves with these details and see if they connect:

  • IP address: 192.168.77.X (X being a number between 2 and 249 but make sure you're not picking an IP your other devices are using)
  • Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
  • Default gateway: 192.168.77.1
  • DNS: 192.168.77.1

Apologies, both, I think. The LAN disconnects are constant. Also it seems every other day at most I power on my XSX to be disconnected from the R3 WiFi with the XSX fixing me the “restart your modem/router” advisory message. At which point my XSX is locked out until I reboot the R3. Everyday or even multiple times a week is untenable, I think. ://

Unfortunately my R3 does not recognize my device through LAN at all. The device manager page constantly shows all devices offline.

I will try to set a Static IP for LAN Devices when I get home and report back the results. Thank you.

then I have a similar problem with ps5, the connection over the cable worked and now on the router there is no device in the LAN section, when I put the console at rest, i.e. it is still connected to the internet, the connection in LAN appears, I turn on the console and it disappears

Just to clarify, do you have a connection to the internet on the PS5 when it's actively being used? If so that's fine. If it's connected to the internet but not actively using the internet it may not show as online.

No, the console is currently working on wifi, the network cable is connected to the console it doesn't work, I put the console in sleep on the router in the LAN section it appears that it detected a connection, then I turn on the console and the connection on the router disappears and there is no internet on the console via the cable

there is no connection as you can see in the picture, I put the console in sleep mode and suddenly the connection appears 🤷, when I connect the console to the internet modem using the same cable, it works normally,it's just weird, I doubt it's something on the console side

I recently reset the router to factory settings (the console is still connected via cable), I'm playing on WiFi and a message appears on the console that the network cable has been connected, but it was connected all the time... suddenly it detected a connection

on another 2-meter cable, the Internet works normally in the console with the Netduma R3 connection, on the current 12-meter cable it does not work, but on the same long cable when connected to the TV it works, when I connect the long cable to the computer it also works, on the previous 12-meter cable which broke down, the console worked normally, so I have no idea what's going on 🥺, and on this long cable without netduma , when Connecting directly to the modem, the internet in the console works

Hmm… this is very bizarre. My Cat 6e cable that works perfectly fine with my ISP is either a 75 or. 100ft. I don’t remember the brand. But much like the other commenter everything worked perfectly fine as is for a solid week after I installed the R3. But never again after that despite all the hard/soft resets I’ve done. 🤔

Apologies for the delay. I literally only just got back home from vacation tonight. I’ll implement the previous suggestions sometime this week and report back findings, changes, if any.

Boy this is exhausting. lol.

p.s: Since we’re on the topic, do you have any preferred Internet cable types/brands for maximum compatibility with the R3, Fraser.

That is strange, perhaps it's due to the length then rather than any specific cable incompatibility. No worries at all, take your time, hope you had a good one!

No specific recommendations, I personally just have an Amazon basics 6e 5 metre cable I think. Honestly other than the category and the shielded types there aren't really any differences between them.

Okay Sir Fraser, I have implemented the IP config settings. No improvement. Still no internet connection for my XSX thru Ethernet to my R3.

Would you like the logs now? I should NOT reboot, correct?

Yes please, grab the logs prior to reboot then you can reboot
