But ..please Uncle Fraser?🥺

The hardware is 10+ years old, making 2023/4 software work on it would be very difficult and not viable either unfortunately

Alright fair enough. How about a final cleaned up version of duma os that the poor ol' router can handle? 🥺

Cleaned up in what sense? What's the issue you're having with the DumaOS 3 version?

Oh I just meant maybe an official final version I guess with maybe a few of the newer features that the R1 could handle. I just started using the R1 again as I haven't played cod since blackops 2 really haha.

One thing I noticed is that it still shows several servers/peers in the wrong location. Do the newer devices have a feature to report wrong locations? I remember manually sending them to the other Ian several years ago to try to fix them, but I'm not sure where to report the wrong server locations now.

I still have the notorious dedicated server in the ocean between Ireland and England that seems to always be active when searching for games, and I'm not sure if it's affecting the matchmaking search at all when trying to find games in the Seattle area and surrounding states. Thank you meow.

Oh right I gotcha, it should still get the latest cloud information but IPs are never 100% accurate so it's like pushing a rock uphill! They don't currently but it may be implemented in future. You can just report them in any topic like this one really, if you have some let us know and I'll pass them on to be corrected.

That one sounds like the authentication server in Ireland so that'll be fine.

Thank you sir for the response! So sounds like that Ireland server is no big deal then? I remember discussing that when I was active a long time ago, but can't remember much.

I was also having trouble with getting open Nat with the netduma through another Asus router, but saw your reply on another thread to put the duma in the other routers DMZ, and that cleared it up. So thank you meow.

One last thing, it's been so long so I don't remember, but does hitting "allow" on a server actually do anything? I've been still doing it on server/peers that have great connections, but I can't remember if it does anything meaningful, at least for blackops 6.

Okay, actually one more thing haha. I was considering getting an r2 now strictly for geo-filtering purposes. I just wanted to know if with the 4.0 os,  there were massive improvements in regards to just the geo-filtering compared to the r1?  Or if it's close enough in geo filter quality sticking with the r1. Thanks a lot for your continued help.

It is a big deal in the sense that you absolutely need to have a connection to it to play but definitely nothing you need to worry about seeing at all.

Good to hear! So essentially the radius acts as a temporary allow/deny in a way, allowing anything within and blocking anything outside, allow/deny does this but permanently and will apply regardless of your radius. I.e. if you've allowed a server but it's outside your radius the next time you play you could still connect to it and vice versa, a denied server inside your radius will still be denied. It is good in the sense you could build up a list of servers that play really well for you and deny the servers that don't and over time you should then have more good games vs bad.

There are extra features on the Geo-Filter with DumaOS 4 such as Geo-Latency and Steady Ping and I'm not not sure if it's in that version or not but country specific filtering so it depends what you're after really. Just a warning though, getting an R2 second hand, if anything goes wrong with it we couldn't replace it - we'll obviously still give you support but anything major we can't replace it. We have a Black Friday discount on the R3 right now, maybe check that out and see if it's worth it for you.

Ahh yep, that makes sense with approving stuff outside the radius, I had forgotten about that. And yeah I totally understand on the support aspect of buying it used. I'll have to take a look and figure something out. Thanks again for all your help.
