Proud R3 Owner
Yeah for wan or lan. I mean if we have cable modems that support link aggregation and it's too expensive to put a 2.5Gb wan port on the R3, can at least add in link aggregation to get those speeds. Also if people don't have that as an option but would like to use it for maybe a nas on the LAN? Was just a thought.... a cool thought.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 3 Administrators Share Posted September 3 That would be very cool, I'll add it to the list!
Fuzy
I would love that! But the internal WAN/LAN switch of the future DumasOS router would have to be multi-Gig. In this case we can think about dualWAN and more! In the meantime it is always possible locally by adding a switch that offers it!
DARKNESS
@Proud R3 OwnerIf were being realistic 2.5 GB Port is a must for the R4 as there wouldn't really be much of an improvement on the hardware not only that by the time it released the cost for manufacturing decreases and wifi 8 is about to be finalized this year. I am already seeing some routers even offering every feature that you would need not too brag but here's one https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/wifi-routers/asus-gaming-routers/rt-be88u/ and then a cheaper one that came out this year and sorta offers most needs https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-be3600/. So in 3-4 years time we shall see...
OliviaC93
Okay, so imagine you're browsing the internet and you come across a bunch of articles or videos about the same topic. It can be really time-consuming to click on each one individually to see what they're all about. That's where link aggregation comes in! Basically, it's like having a central hub that gathers all those links together in one place. So instead of jumping around from site to site, you can quickly scan the headlines or summaries on this single page and decide which ones you actually want to read. There are different ways to do this. Some websites specialize in aggregating news from various sources, while others focus on specific niches like tech or travel. Social media platforms also play a big role, as people often share links to interesting articles or videos, and those links can be easily discovered and shared further. Link aggregation can be a real time-saver, especially if you're trying to stay updated on a particular topic or looking for inspiration. It can also help you discover new and interesting content that you might not have found otherwise.
