Proud R3 Owner
Yeah for wan or lan. I mean if we have cable modems that support link aggregation and it's too expensive to put a 2.5Gb wan port on the R3, can at least add in link aggregation to get those speeds. Also if people don't have that as an option but would like to use it for maybe a nas on the LAN? Was just a thought.... a cool thought.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 3 Administrators Share Posted September 3 That would be very cool, I'll add it to the list!
Fuzy
I would love that! But the internal WAN/LAN switch of the future DumasOS router would have to be multi-Gig. In this case we can think about dualWAN and more! In the meantime it is always possible locally by adding a switch that offers it!
DARKNESS
@Proud R3 OwnerIf were being realistic 2.5 GB Port is a must for the R4 as there wouldn't really be much of an improvement on the hardware not only that by the time it released the cost for manufacturing decreases and wifi 8 is about to be finalized this year. I am already seeing some routers even offering every feature that you would need not too brag but here's one https://www.asus.com/us/networking-iot-servers/wifi-routers/asus-gaming-routers/rt-be88u/ and then a cheaper one that came out this year and sorta offers most needs https://www.tp-link.com/us/home-networking/wifi-router/archer-be3600/. So in 3-4 years time we shall see...
