JimmyP
Hi, I've noticed a massive drop in Wi-Fi performance over the last couple of days. I used to get consistant 600mbs down and 100mbs up across all devices. Now I get not even 10%. https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/677917199 However on LAN, I am getting full speed. https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/677917440 I am completely baffled. I still have my Wi-fi antennas in the _.|_|._ position. But I am stumped on what to do next. I have disabled IPV6 and most services also. Full reboot and restores do not fix my issue. Please help 😕 have I got faulty Wi-Fi antennas? Kind Regards, James.
JimmyP
I’ve now switched from using the auto band feature to manually specifying them. I’ve had a 100mbs increase to the download stream. But I’m wondering if you can share how to get find the best setup?
DARKNESS
@JimmyPCould be the fact your using a channel that's congested therefore there would be slower speeds depending on interference to optimize channels use an app like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=abdelrahman.wifianalyzerpro&hl=en_US to find the optimal channel also check for your local area channels allowed since if your using channels that your not supposed to then you could get into legal trouble. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted August 4, 2024 Administrators Share Posted August 4, 2024 Good advise above, in addition: Experiment with the widths to see what gives better results Ensure it's in an elevated position - not on a metal surface Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proximity ~3 feet if possible
