dasert
Hi I have tried setting the QoS of the XR1000 in various ways. With the router provided by my ISP I had a grade A on "https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat" now with only router xr1000 QoS set 52% gaming I have a grade that fluctuates between B and C with ping peaks reaching 500 and Download Active +50 while before the maximum was ping 100 and +10. Now I wanted to find out if it was a bug since the test takes place in the browser and is not seen as gaming or not. I also tried lowering the % to 50% in both down and up. I only play warzon and in the :traffic priority section if I set pc there is no call of duty game anymore. But i saw that i can do manual and prioritise ports. do you recommend me to delete the open ports profile done in the section :port forwarding, and set everything from QoS or do both. I have a line with DW 900Mbps and 280Mbps UP.
Fuzy
Hi ! After setting the ABB (Anti BufferBloat), did you select "always" so that the test parameters are taken into account?
dasert
yes. I set it to always,
DARKNESS
@dasertYou might not be able to get A+ do to the DPI not detecting the site as it hasn't been updated (XR1000) so it doesn't get priority. The best tip to get your network under control is using pingplotter or alternatively use the game stats and run speed test and keep decreasing your cc it till you see no ping spikes/loss of packets or use command prompt. dasert
I have already updated to the latest version 1.0.68. The strange thing is that if I disable QoS the test gives a better result. Regarding the lack of call of duty if I select PC in traffic priority, what do I need to set?
DARKNESS
@dasertYou can just classify it as a games console and that should work if I recollect disabling QOS means you won't have the ability to use traffic priority so it needs to be enabled.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 16 Administrators Share Posted May 16 What is the model of the modem/router the XR is connected to and how have you set that to ensure all traffic flows to the XR? E.g. XR in its DMZ, modem/bridge mode Are ALL devices connected to the XR?
dasert
all devices are connected to the XR. and it is the first modem in the network directly after ONT.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 17 Administrators Share Posted May 17 Start with a high value for Congestion Control, say 95% then do a test, decrease by 10%, test, decrease by 10% etc, until you get to a value that is pretty good and then try 5% either side of that value to see if it can be improved. It's important to note that Download & Upload on Congestion Control don't have to be the same value and that you may have a better experience with differing values.
