187
I blocked a device using the App and when I scrolled down to the blocked devices to unblock it, there was a lag in updating the device status and the unblock button changed to two buttons - unblock and delete. Well, my thumb was already clicking unblock as it changed to the word delete. Now the device is no longer showing in the device manager and it cannot connect to the network,. How do I add the device back so I can unblock it?
187
I figured out a way to connect the device. First I tried adding a DHCP reservation with the devices MAC Address. It was still unable to connect. So, I hard coded the IP address on the device to match that DHCP reservation (instead of letting it us DHCP) and then it was able to connect. My question for the admin's is: is there something hidden that is still blocking that old IP/MAC combination? If I tell the device to use DHCP instead of the hard coded IP address, will it go back to being blocked?
Administrators Netduma Alex Posted May 15 Administrators Share Posted May 15 This is quite an unusual bug, I've not come across this before. So you think that the device block was still present on the backend when you removed the device? I will try and recreate this bug myself and report it to the developers. Thanks! It's still there. Confirmed that changing the device back to DHCP and it was unable to connect - even with the DHCP reservation still present on the router. The one thing I haven't tried is blocking it again and then unblocking it. Maybe the MAC will be blocked/unblocked and that will fix it. It is also a weird visual bug in the iOS UI that creates this risk of deleting something that you have blocked. The button only says unblock at first, but then it changes to two buttons - unblock and delete.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 16 Administrators Share Posted May 16 Definitely haven't seen this issue before, if you're not able to unblock it properly the only way to get it connected again would be to change the MAC address of the device itself so the router thinks its a different device
