QoS causes slow throughput

Recommended Posts

SETUP: ONT-Asus AX88U- Netduma R3 (DHCP/Static)

Firmware: 4.0.41

QoS bug: After a few hours of gaming and watching Twitch streams QoS slows down devices to a few kbps until you disable/enable QoS. UI also loads slowly until the QoS restart

Warzone - Stuck on waiting for the host never shows the stabilized message,  adds the latency but ping fluctuates by 3-5ms. To open NAT on CoD I have to restart the router before it opens the ports

Rainbow Six Siege- Doesn't stabilize and pings the matchmaking server as if it were the host (ingame ping 6ms ping on router 200ms+)

Fortnite- Stablizes multiple times in a match

When this happens, if you have a look at the CPU/memory do you notice it being used a lot?

Does SmartBOOST show the same amount of traffic being used or is it using up everything? How do you have Congestion Control set?

The only thing running currently is 3 Twitch streams. It shouldn't cap out a 500Mbps line

My congestion control is 90%/90% Always on

I believe this may be what is causing issues with slow wifi/slow wired connections. It would make sense to some level as when the router crashes from a geofilter resync, and the admin page gets stuck on loading page the WiFi, wired speeds dramatically increase until the device reboots

Are you saying if you manually resync the cloud that you can reproduce this issue?

That's likely to be something else, are you using PPPoE?

I can reproduce this issue, but only after the router have been up for 3 or more days..

Are you testing on the router speed test or speedtest.net? Is speed test bypass enabled?

What kind of network traffic is there over those days? The more information the better as we can more closely try to reproduce it then.

@Netduma Fraser   Same here I have to physically turn off/on the R3 everyday, gets stuck on reloading the page. Does not matter what web browser I'm using.r3.JPG.789b2e8ab6c455987e7ca694164f06f2.JPGr3a.thumb.JPG.d9b65f20c0a1b61105ba1869a4838e17.JPG

@TheTerpinator710

@Netduma Fraser Every time I restart my R3 at least one of my ports is not running at full speed. TheTerpinator, take the ethernet wire out of one port and put it on another port, then do another speed test, I bet this will increase your speeds. for some odd reason 3 out of the 4 ports run at full speed.

Don't use the built in speed test, use speedtest.net, do you see the same reduced speeds?

I'm using Speedtest.net, wired connected to my computer. Problem still persist with one port always slow and the others running fine.

What device is 192.168.50.227? It's using port 3074 and is flooding the logs so wouldn't be surprised if whatever that device is is causing the issue

That's the Netduma R3 router...

So that's its WAN IP then? What device is using port 3074, if you're not sure check UPnP

Looks like the console was on and active for about 7 hours is that right? Were you watching twitch on it as well?

Console- Games.Edit: CoD keeps pinging servers even if you sit at the main menu.

Were you hosting a game with friends or the party leader? There was multiple IP addresses attempting connections with you in the same second. Were you playing the entire 7 hours?
