carmine19 Posted February 14, 2024 Posted February 14, 2024 Hi, there is a problem with smarQos with VPNs, all the traffic that passes through the VPN (video, streaming, games, etc.) is only read as wireguard traffic or other protocol traffic and that's not good as the QOS even if it passes a packet that has priority doesn't read it, ditto if you put the protocol in priority after everything that passes, even the things we don't want are given priority.
DARKNESS Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 To be realistic don't expect a vpn to be detected accurately it common sense that the traffic is encrypted therefore it won't be detected accurately if ISP's had the ability to do so that would be the worst thing possible as they would definitely throttle your connection.
Krush Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 Hi ! You installed WG on a PC, so it's normal that all traffic coming from the PC is now recognized as WG!
carmine19 Posted February 15, 2024 Author Posted February 15, 2024 I imagined that was the problem, but does it work the same with netudma hvpn or are the packets classified first and then enter the vpn?
Krush Posted February 15, 2024 Posted February 15, 2024 In principle it will be the same thing because all traffic that passes through the VPN tunnel will be considered as VPN, that's the goal! On the other hand, with HVPN, you can choose the ports or applications that you want to pass through the HVPN tunnel. carmine19 1

The purpose of a VPN tunnel is to transfer data from point A to point B in encrypted form. It is therefore normal that nobody can see in there If hybrid VPN is available on the R3, things look different again. The R3 should be able to classify the data before it sends it through the tunnel, as it sets up the VPN access itself. carmine19 1
