Jeofel08
Can you guys develop here in netduma something like asus ai mesh so we can still use old netduma device like r2 as node. R3+R2
Newfie
Interesting idea but the R2 is pretty old WiFi standard and might struggle with a density of clients as the backhaul channel will be a shared medium and of course the same channel would be used and that adds a bit more interference. Would slow down and add latency across the network in general use. Your throughput would be reduced too with this type of wireless connectivity. now if they were to create an AP with a dedicated channel backhaul channel that would help but then the R3 being a single 2x2 would sacrifice airtime on its connection. Triband works better as they can often be used so one channel is used for mesh connection only and on a separate channel to help avoid interference. For best practice the R3 would be matched with another WiFi 6 AP and I think a cable connection between the 2 would be beneficial to aid network flow rates and to help overall performance. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 9 Administrators Share Posted February 9 There is the potential that we might add an AP mode for the R2 so that for those with the R2 + R3 both can be used PharmDawgg
Jeofel08
@Netduma Fraser Either Wired or Wireless backhaul must be there Also, If possible can be controlled via Main Router e.g R3 Netduma Fraser
