RFGrinch Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Hi guys. Can anyone help me get my ipv6 back on. I boot up xbox and instantly im at double nat and ipv4 moderate. i test nat and i get open ipv4 thats all. im using R3 and its connected to my sky max hub if that helps.
Krush Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 Hi ! You may not be able to get IPv6 behind the R3. But this is not a problem in itself because IPv6 is not necessary, your xbox will work very well with IPv4 only! 😉 RFGrinch 1
RFGrinch Posted January 25, 2024 Author Posted January 25, 2024 Thanking you. I know it works just fine. Its just something ive noticed thats missing for some reason, and dont have a clue why it puts me at double nat and moderate every time. Krush 1
Krush Posted January 25, 2024 Posted January 25, 2024 This must be due to UPnP not automatically opening the port for NAT quickly enough after starting the Xbox. You just have to test it for it to be operational... (power saving mode maybe) RFGrinch 1
RFGrinch Posted January 25, 2024 Author Posted January 25, 2024 Thanks bud. I will check this out. Have a tinker about. Krush 1
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 26, 2024 Administrators Posted January 26, 2024 Have you got the R3 in the DMZ on the Sky Hub? You will need to do that to eliminate the double NAT RFGrinch 1
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 26, 2024 Administrators Posted January 26, 2024 Copy the R3 WAN IP from Settings > WAN then access the Sky Hub interface and paste the IP into its DMZ function RFGrinch 1
RFGrinch Posted January 26, 2024 Author Posted January 26, 2024 Thanks a bunch. Will do this in a short while. Have a fab weekend. Netduma Fraser 1
RFGrinch Posted January 26, 2024 Author Posted January 26, 2024 Removed double nat and all is open now. Huge help Thanks bud. Netduma Fraser 1
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 26, 2024 Administrators Posted January 26, 2024 Great to hear that, thanks for the update! RFGrinch 1
RFGrinch Posted April 4, 2024 Author Posted April 4, 2024 Hi fraser. Something has happened. Sky router in dmz still. Double nat again and strict. Have no clue whats happening.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 4, 2024 Administrators Posted April 4, 2024 The IP for the router has probably changed - check the WAN IP on the R3 in WAN Settings then check the IP on the DMZ on the Sky router and see if they match - if not update it
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 4, 2024 Administrators Posted April 4, 2024 Rebooting will likely change the IPs, did you check they match?
RFGrinch Posted April 4, 2024 Author Posted April 4, 2024 yeah they both matched as i turned dmz off and redid it from start again.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 4, 2024 Administrators Posted April 4, 2024 Did you change any settings on the R3 or hub prior to it happening?
RFGrinch Posted April 4, 2024 Author Posted April 4, 2024 i played with ping heatmap and stuff for cod. Thats all im sure.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 4, 2024 Administrators Posted April 4, 2024 There is a conflict somewhere definitely, most likely an IP has changed, if you've put the Xbox in the DMZ on the R3 for example the IP for the Xbox may have changed
RFGrinch Posted April 4, 2024 Author Posted April 4, 2024 I just reset everything (both routers) and now its working. Put back in dmz with wan ip. What a headache lol
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 4, 2024 Administrators Posted April 4, 2024 Tech can be weird sometimes! Glad it's all working now. Would be a good idea to set that IP that is in the DMZ as static/reserved on the hub so it doesn't happen again
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 4, 2024 Administrators Posted April 4, 2024 It'll be on the ISP modem/router LAN/DHCP settings, all you need to do is add reservation for the R3 and give it the IP it has already/the one it the ISP router DMZ
