Julian83
Hi, as the title says just got the router today and noticed the seal was damaged(I have a photo), I continued as normal. The router does not connect to the internet. Updated it to the latest version of firmware using my other router to get internet connection. Waited 4 minutes before inserting the cables as Ive read on another post, factory reset, tried Incognito browser..it doesn’t connect to the internet regardless. I can access it from the browser, I can access it from the App. The time zone is weird though, and time and date doesn’t match. Please advise, I’m starting to regret the purchase. Thank you. Julian If you live outside their country then Customs is allowed to open packaging to inspect for potential threats. As far as connectivity goes, how does it connect in your network? Modem > R3 or is it a Gateway device that does firewall, routing, Wi-Fi? Please post specifics of your setup. Disrek and Julian83
Julian83
Understandable about the seal, I don’t really care about that. I have a FTTH Modem and from Port 3, goes to whatever Router you have. I have a pretty basic one that works. Find the photos attached. Thank you
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 19 Administrators Share Posted January 19 I believe the seal is because the router comes packaged to us and we then need to open it to apply the firmware. Do you know if you require PPPoE/VLAN/DHCP Identifiers to get internet at all?
Julian83
I do not have a clue about that, moved recently and the router was already here. I don’t think the router I have does anything special, it’s pretty basic. Thank you
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 19 Administrators Share Posted January 19 Connect back the other router then have a look in its network settings just in case, if it does then you can just mirror that in the R3 settings. Also in the mean time if you click Advanced WAN Settings from that screenshot you can skip it then complete the wizard. If you don't need the details mentioned then you could reboot the ONT, wait 2 minutes, reboot the R3, wait 4 minutes and you may get internet

Julian83
I do not know how to open it and it seems that the pigtail is coiled up in behind it, then the ONT slides to reveal that. I really don’t want to force my way opening it and possibly break the fiber(I don’t have a splicer with me now :)) )
Julian83
I got access to the router see attached for manufacturer and model. However, what settings should I be looking for?
Chackall
Hello. I don't know how it works where you live, but in my country some internet providers block the MAC of devices connected to the network. In my case, I changed the MAC of R3 to the MAC of my old router to be able to connect to the network. The other option would be to contact the provider and request release of the new device's MAC. This could be the problem there, or maybe not, just a tip.
