Moto67
Hi All, As a few others have mentioned, I am also having issues with weak wifi signal (speed and coverage). This is especially bad on 2.4ghz. Has anyone found a solution to make the wifi stronger?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 5 Administrators Share Posted January 5 Split the bands, give 2.4/5GHz different names and apply - you'll want to connect to 5GHz specifically for speeds Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel and change to that Experiment with the widths to see what gives better results Ensure it's in an elevated position - not on a metal surface Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proximity ~3 feet if possible Set the antennae to this position _ | | _
JustinW
Hello I just got R3 the other day and have noticed the same issue. The WiFi coverage on the 2.4ghz is very weak, thankfully the 5ghz is strong enough to give me WiFi throughout my home. Have tried the above tips from Fraser with no change. Hopefully it is just a software issue and can be fixed soon. Loving everything else on the R3 though. Disrek

GavinA895
+1 to this. Just received my R3 today, updated and running .23 and made the changes mentioned above.... considerably weaker wifi signal. Compared to a XR1000 which was my older router Mr_Meeseeks

PharmDawgg
I would only compare the R3's wi-fi to the R2 or R1. The R3's wi-fi is better when it comes to those routers. To compare it the XR1000 is like the whole apples to oranges comparison. The XR products were Netgears with Duma's OS. Netduma Fraser
