Spdsk8race
Update on missing servers on skip ahead alpha: I have finally gotten servers to appear and able to ping them! It seems that .23 update doesn't have anything appear with the simple circle boundary, geo latency, steady ping and fast search disabled, ping assist off and strict enabled, along with all options enabled. However when I disable steady ping and fast search, while enabling geo latency, strict search AND turning ping assist on(set it to 60ms and still using simple circle boundary) all servers appear and I'm finally able to block, allow, and see server information. I'm going to see what is making it work by disabling single items until it stops once again.

It should work fine, I think it's more likely as to when the Geo-Filter settings are applied in relation to when you boot up the game but do let us know what you think it could be DOGGAVELI

(YAY!) - With Geo-Latency on, Xbox Series X (set to Xbox in device manager) using simple boundary, strict enabled, fast disabled, and ping assist set under 30ms blocking seem to stop working, and start connecting to servers with 60ms+ and outside boundary. (Odd) ( in particular 25ms seems to be the really bad breaking point, where it starts doing everything really wrong) - Ping assist set to 0, blocking seems to be functioning as expected with same info as above. (YAY!) Some great things: - Smart Boost stats for nerds page is awesome! I LOVE THIS PAGE, I do find it odd that it reports information even with it being disabled, but nonetheless it is some very interesting information On some other issues reported and feedback rant on-going problems reported: I'm not a developer, but I have spent the better part of 15 years product testing equipment for nearly all major tech companies, and it seems pretty simple(simple is used very loosely in this) and one of the most annoying things that seems to happen with all Netduma issues being reported is, it's always something on the end user side that's the issue, and that it couldn't possibly be something wrong with the software or hardware. (insert, Port forwarding issues, wifi issues, wifi range issues, router deciding stop randomly lock up, etc) Unless, it's something that Netduma acknowledges as not working from the release date(Hybrid VPN, Ping optimizer) No matter the amount of reported issues, multiple threads opened, the response everyone seems to always receive is "This is completely unexpected, and no one else has reported anything like this" It's also most likely aggravating to y'all to have multiple post, in multiple threads, with next to zero information being provided about issues, and then having little to no visibility to see how many people are having said issue. I don't know if would be possible to create a seperate sub forum for issue reporting only, that would require a log file and whatever setting configurations would be beneficial for your team to be aware of, then have a thumbs up or down for people to report having the same issue(If they thumbs up, maybe require these people to attach a log also) having the thread locked from having replies from anyone thats not Netduma, and have one of y'all post a possible solution, and another thumbs up or down if it resolves the issue. This would make it a lot easier for end users to report issues in a way your team can find benefiscal, being able to track amount of users experiencing said issue, and having a simple path to provide a resolution/possible resolution to the masses, without having to dig through 50+ threads to find an outdated fix, and then causing your team to respond to the same issue 100's of time. Just my 2 cents on maybe a better way of getting things cleaned up/stop the multiple post across multiple threads for the same issues. RApps Issues: - Xbox traffic in stats for nerds, is being reported as Samknows, Always see screenshot below - Ping Optimizer seems to work pretty well, but only works when smart boost is enabled (Verified this to be fact based on system logs showing it wouldn't start the process until smart boost is enabled - Smart Boost might not be turning off, even when selecting disabled (Could be the cause of the wifi issues, attaching logs and screen shots showing when I disable smartboost, it seems to state that it's still enabled in system logs) - One small note to make with Smart Boost, the router absolutely DOES NOT LIKE having every activity enabled, lol. It crashes the app and makes accessing the dashboard page even from hardwire near impossible. Very minor issue, but thought it was interesting. - Seeing a very odd, conntrack error in the system logs, log is attached and a screenshot of this message WIFI issues: - The Wifi is definitely broken between all updates I have used (.16, .19, .20, .23) regarding Max Throughput/Max Mbps seen in speed test, without question. My network speed is ATT Fiber 2 Gbps with a CAT8 cable. I can set the router in a space where no electronics are nearby, using a wifi 6 compatible device (Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, Oneplus 11, Samsung S23 Ultra, Lenovo p1 6th Gen laptop with wifi 6e card), along with having split wifi, and using 160 Mhz bandwidth(Also tried on every bandwidth, as recommend... even though this seem to be counter productive..) channel 128 ( in area there are 0 on channel) and standing 2 feet, 5 feet, 10 feet etc etc with direct line of sight and antennas pointed in the recommend configuration, along with disconnecting every item from the network, and speeds will never reach above 400 Mbps on download or upload. and to clarify a VERY key item, I can unplug the R3, connect my 6 year old XR500 (with no Wifi 6...) and my wifi speeds are 800+ Mbps on download and upload, consistently . This is a annoying issue, and based upon the multiple threads about this, this isn't a isolated issue and I have yet to see 2 people report their wifi performing anywhere near expected. (I did see one, but without any proof that speeds were seen over wifi) - Port Forwarding doesn't work, at all. minor issue since UPnP seems to work perfectly fine at the moment. Minor issue Overall: Even with the issues that I have experienced with this router, the router when it is working for gaming, work amazing! and the other issues I have experienced while extremely irritating, are not issues that are making me want to drown the router in water (Some test devices I have really wanted to do this) and for small company, with a niche product, this is going to continue to get better and better! Thank you for the continued support and constant interaction within your forums! Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 4 Administrators Share Posted January 4 @Spdsk8race Thank you for the feedback, it's much appreciated, to comment on some of the points you made: We're definitely aware the Geo-Filter needs more work so the team will be looking into that Stats for nerds will still show when SmartBOOST isn't enabled as it will still show traffic going through devices etc on a deeper level, it just shouldn't show anything being prioritized - glad you like it though! On support/issues, my whole job is to support customers, troubleshoot issues and report bugs essentially. It is a complex product, of course we've been around for awhile now so there are people who are more familiar with how it works/are more tech savvy but there are also those who aren't or are not used to interacting with a router other than to connect to the WiFi or reboot it. I have to do my due diligence, networking has so many variables as it is and with all the added options on the router it compounds that. I have to be sure when an issue is on the user side or on the software side. Depending on the issue this can take a long time to determine or a short time. If it's a legitimate issue then I'll report it to the devs but I can't assume every issue someone posts requires dev input. I'm essentially the flood gate for the devs in that sense. In terms of topics and responding to the same things, it's understandable as we've just launched that this is going to happen, however given my experience I'm confident I have plucked out all the issues requiring dev attention. With every report I usually provide a link to at least one topic that provides the most information about the issue or links to a couple if needed. We have tried certain methods in the past to contain things better but as the forum is at the heart of support, people will post wherever they want usually, the forum software doesn't have the power for me to pigeon hole people into responding in the correct places. Also people don't like reading generally! If it does get too bad though I will do something to take the pressure off, like this post: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/52852-netduma-r3-launch-faqs/ I posted that 2 weeks ago and probably 50% of that post is posted elsewhere as new topics/comments. Overall, the support/issue reporting is a bid mad at the moment but that's just due to the launch, it was the same with the R2, once new firmware starts rolling out and fixes most of the reported issues it will quieten down again. Ping Optimizer not working with SmartBOOST disabled makes sense as this disables Congestion Control which Ping Optimizer uses. I think port forwarding is working, it's just not showing its working - the team are aware. For everything else thanks for the information, I will pass it onto the team.
