Geo-Filter isn't blocking servers outside radius

I'm playing Call of Duty: Cold War. I've got filtering on for both my devices (PC and PS5), but for some reason the Geo-Filter isn't blocking servers like it's supposed to. I'm in Michigan, but the game keeps connecting me to servers as far out as California and Florida. I'm guessing this is a bug, because I believe I've got the proper settings. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? Or am I doing something wrong?

@pdiorioIn short it basically disables geofilter however I believe there intentions are for it to work with it but it doesn't work as they intended

Figured as much. Ping assist worked fine in DumaOS 3.0, so there's probably some bugs to iron out in the coming weeks

Try this:

  • Disable GeoLatency
  • Disable PingAssist (set it to 0,0)
  • Enable Strict Mode
  • Disable Fast Search

Then restart game or wait 10 minutes (in the lobby in the game), if that doesn't work, reboot PC/Console.

I've also sent you a PM with firmware that should help with Geo-Latency when enabled.

@Netduma Fraser My geo filter since the update to .20 doesn't ever show any servers I'm connecting to, let alone that my Xbox is active. I tried to follow the instructions above, along with trying to reinstall the firmware. The only thing I haven't tried to do is factory reset the device (really hoping I don't have to do this, I don't want to have to reconfigure all the settings again...) Any ideas on this?

Have you played with both wired and wireless internet connection recently? If so then there will be two devices in the device manager for the same device (Xbox in this case).

No never had my Xbox connected to wireless, I also have the Xbox set with a reserved IP address.

I have the same problem, I did what he told me and it didn't work on the R2. And on the RX 500 it always had a ping of less than 40ms and now it usually looks for games of 150ms. I hope this is resolved. It is a good product and has good potential.

@Netduma Fraser Also, Everytime you reboot the router steady ping turns itself back on again.

@Netduma Frasersorry for the multiple posts, but  one final thing. I don't have the ability to adjust congestion control, it's always greyed out and showing 0% for download upload.

I've sent you a PM with firmware that has Geo-Filter improvements, let us know if that helps at all. We're aware of Steady Ping not saving the state through a reboot and will resolve that.

Have you disabled SmartBOOST entirely? If so that will be why

I've sent you a private message with firmware also

@Netduma Fraser Updated, and did a factory reset just in case. Still showing no servers appearing when playing Xbox at all. I have strict enabled, geo latency turned off, steady ping disabled, rebooted, etc still showing nothing. Would disabling IPv6 on the lan or wan side help?

If you do a speed test on the console do you see anything in Network Activity for it? Are you using the Xbox Insider Program software instead of the normal public one?
