Thanks for trying, I don't think it would work anyway, if disabling QoS & DPI doesn't work then it wouldn't on its own unfortunately. You could try using the block services function in the Settings page for the Adblocker URL/api.netduma.com URL and see if that works. That's the only other thing I can think of currently other than downgrading and see if it works and if so staying on that until we resolve it via the cloud.

For today, I have decided to end my attempts. Although I have tried to downgrade to rc-10, the error persists. rc-14 The solution now is to wait and leave it in the hands of the experts. merry christmas to all..and i say bye.. I have decided to install OPENWRT because in need dhcp and netwrok works for first.

Now i have adblocker on that and work well. i have lose geoip and some other dumaos function but there are many packages that can to be installed ..need a time for setting maybe.

Dumaos need works better in software, this router have nice hardware.

So after trying to downgrade to make this router usable all I get is a 400 bad error. Not sure how to make this router usable again. I get as far as speed test from factory reset then I enter my new credentials for admin password and then next page error I have tried on multiple devices and cleared cookies and cache

I'm not sure what that means but we can't provide cloud updates for specific firmware versions. It would also require the team to be available to do so which they won't be until new year unfortunately.

I have powered off and waited at least a minute, I have tried holding the red button to factory reset and even cleared Cache and Cookies and issue persist. I can no longer utilize this router anymore since trying to downgrade to public firmware. I am not sure what i can even do now to use my router.

You can recover it using this method.

You can try the above method or try to downgrade using routerlogin.net/adv_index.htm and see if it works that way

Just wanted to say thankyou for the heads-up about OPENWRT; I had not realised they started supporting this router (over 2 years ago!) - This has made my Xmas, and I too am now running OpenWrt 24.10.0-rc4  and things are much more stable...

Wish I had done this 2 years ago..

hi I have had loads of trouble with this router in  from the updates   wish that they would step up and give us a fixed  software for this  I have spent hours trying  to get  it to load after a simple reset on  the beta rc 14 and 10  but managed to get into the index and flash it again to get into it once again   please give us  the  fix we all deserve    for the xr500   loads of unhappy people on here  waiting

A fix for what exactly? The only issue you've mentioned is some trouble after upgrading but nothing about an issue after that

 I reset the full thing due to it constantly causing lagg in games  the geo location wasn't working  aswell   I tried an old asus router it seems to work  with no lag    it's the time it takes to actually get this router  with this software to run and keep it running smoothly any help will be greatly appreciated  think they need to make something a bit more better than rc10 and rc14

That could be for any number of reasons, start a new topic and let us know more about your setup and how you've got the features set and we can help further.

So I been running the public firmware and has been ok but I finally decided to upgrade to the beta again. I got the first (INTERMEDIARY) firmware upgraded the when I get to the RC10 I get as far as creating my admin password and the next page always has an error. If I refresh, it takes me back to my Speedtest results and then prompts me to create my admin password and security questions and if I do so I get the same error all over again.

“400 Bad Request

This server does not support the operation requested by your client. “

Did you factory reset on RC10 then? You don't need to do that, just intermediary > rc10 > rc14 then you can reset. Are you accessing via ethernet or WiFi when it happens? Are you able to complete it using another device over ethernet?

Yes i did the factory reset on the RC10. I was able to access using the Nighthawk app and doing the set up there then finishing set up on computer and yes I was using ethernet. I was able to install RC 14 but after that factory reset, I did encounter the error again and I had to use the Nighthawk app to set up and then finish set up on routerlogin.net 

 

everything seems to be working fine and stable now but will keep posted if the API error does pop up. Currently the QOS future is working fine and network monitoring is reporting proper applications. No issues with ad blocker yet.

It is obvious that once the firmware is installed it works fine, wait until it resyncs with the cloud, QOS and ADBLOCK will stop working and the error will appear.

Please sync again in the devices section and confirm if you have no issues after syncing.

We need them to fix this, it's been a month and nothing.
