Netgear XR1000 firmware version 1.0.0.68 bug and various topics

Recommended Posts

Hi Netduma, I have a Netgear XR1000 that after 18 months without updates has updated to firmware version 1.0.0.68
Many problems for a top of the range wifi6 and many missing functions. Still with DUMA OS 3.1.1 compared to 3.3 of Netduma R2.
You advise me to take Netduma R2 even if wifi5 but more updated and also participate in the Duma OS 3.3 firmware beta. Thank you.
Netgear XR1000 so much untapped potential.
Netduma R2 much more functions and more stable.
Netgear XR1000 does not work traffic congestion that gives me D in PPPOE (https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat?test-id=5bbe17a7-c17d-4397-8482-358747c196dd) with TIM FTTC 200 mega. Connect it in DHCP the ping benchmark gives me packet loss while in PPPOE no.
Does Netduma R2 work congestion in PPPOE? Thank you Netduma Fraser.

When will Duma OS 3.3 arrive on Netgear XR1000 and also the Vpn Hybrid? I use the TIM HUB PLUS + TECHNICOLOR modem.

Another problem is that in PPPOE in traffic priority it does not detect DumaOS games and stays off while I play. And not even if I deactivate it and insert Game console on the PS5. In device manager I renamed both Playstation and Game console device without any difference.
While in Geofilter playing on eFootball it hooks the dedicated server in Switzerland and then disappears automatic host ping and I don't see anything.
On automatic setting I set the download and upload qos to 99% but I manually set 70% download and upload as instructed.
Bandwidth allocation I leave by default on applications that does not change on devices and on applications.
Finally, the heatmap ping is not accurate because I check the eFootball server's ip command prompt and the ping is lower and more stable.
This is what I notice.
I hope you make some beta firmware on Netgear XR1000 to try it first. Thank you.

One last thing I use microsoft edge but it also happens with google chrome that if I look at automatic ping host after a while without touching the mouse it logs out and even if I come back immediately automatic ping host has disappeared and also the connected server.
If I connect in DHCP with the TIM HUB PLUS + TECHNICOLOR and I do a ping benchmark it gives me lost packets (even if I think it's not true or it's a block of the TIM modem which manages PPPOE better). In fact, connecting a FRITZBOX 7590 TIM EDITION in DHCP 0% packet loss ping benchmark test (Lantiq chipset is more unstable in FTTC than TECHNICOLOR's Broadcom chipset and is unplayable online). Thanks Netduma Fraser.

But isn't there a Netgear XR1000 firmware that doesn't have the PPPOE/QOS problem? How to downgrade from firmware version 1.0.0.68?
If there is also a beta firmware with already bug fixes for the Netgear XR1000 could you send it to me?
Netduma R2 also has the same problem with DUMA OS 3.3 firmware with PPPOE/QOS?

  1. No there isn't a firmware I am aware of that doesn't have that problem. To downgrade download one of the previous versions from the Netgear support site and then go to the router interface > Settings > Administration > Firmware Update and upload the file.
  2. There aren't any beta builds currently available for the XR1000.
  3. That's correct, we're looking into it at the moment.

Firmware downgrade without reset from 1.0.0.68 to 1.0.0.64. PPPOE/QOS problem persists.
Performed a bufferbloat test with outcome D like 1.0.0.68(https://www.waveform.com/tools/bufferbloat?test-id=12a18dc5-f111-4aab-ae0b-8718bf275514)
I'll check if it works traffic priority that we don't light up red dots while in game in version 1.0.0.68
Improve real ping on ping heatmap that doesn't give the right value comparing it with windows command prompt.
I'm tempted to get Netduma R2 and install the latest beta firmware 3.3 waiting for better times for the Netgear XR1000 (too slow to get updates and the bugs after 18 months are still on 1.0.0.68.

I switched to version 1.0.0.64 without reset:
Traffic priority does not activate while playing efootball on the PS5 but only in the game menu or when the opponent disconnects.
I used Games DumaOS then deactivated and activated Game console.
While in Geofilter it doesn't disappear auto host ping after it finds the match like in 1.0.0.68.
This Netgear XR1000 has too many problems to be a top of the range without even developing beta firmware to fix problems before an official firmware. In fact, 18 months went by months from 1.0.0.64 to 1.0.0.68 without bringing improvements and remaining Duma OS 3.1.1.
More and more convinced to switch to Netduma R2 even if wifi5 hoping that in the future it will also include the Italian language.
Will a Netduma R3 wifi6 be your next router?

I reset the Netgear XR1000 router with firmware 1.0.0.64(if I check for a new firmware it doesn't detect version 1.0.0.68).
You have a problem configuring from pc. Entering the web page: http://www.routerlogin.net/genie_index.htm for the configuration opens this page both on Microsoft Edge and on Google Chrome:
http://edge-http.microsoft.com/captiveportal/generate_204
The only way for the initial configuration is to connect via mobile phone in wifi with the qrcode of the router and do the configuration and then continue from the PC.
This problem also happens with 1.0.0.68. My router was also replaced by Amazon so it's a software problem.

The Games Console profile should work for eFootball, it won't always appear to be prioritizing, should just be in the game. For the Geo-Filter, Try this:

  1. Quit the application/game/client completely
  2. Remove device from the Geo-Filter
  3. Give PC PlayStation Device Type in the Device Manager (if on PC)
  4. Resync from the Geo-Filter Map menu
  5. Re-add the device to the Geo-Filter with the manual option
  6. Set up the Geo-Filter how you like
  7. Wait 2 minutes
  8. Boot up application/game/client

Then see if it works better.

You should only need to use routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1 to access the interface.

You didn't answer all three questions.
I'm with firmware 1.0.0.64 after a double reset from the router key.
In the game on eFootball I deactivated Games Duma OS (it does not detect Playstation 5 traffic) and put it on the game console but in the game traffic priority remains off while if I do a Playstation 5 speed test the red dots light up.
This error http://edge-http.microsoft.com/captiveportal/generate_204 i do after being in http://www.routerlogin.net/genie_index.htm and i can't do initial config from pc. While from a mobile phone on wifi I can do the initial configuration after a reset and then switch to the PC.
This problem also happens with the previous router. Both 1.0.0.64 and 1.0.0.68 have this problem.
I think I take Netduma R2 given the slowness of Netgear to release updates. We will see this Netgear XR1000 in the future but to be a top of the range it only applies to wifi6.
Software full of bugs never fixed in 18 months. I would say that the priority of the software certainly goes to the Netduma R2 but also to the Netgear XR1000. While developing beta firmware for Netduma R2, Netgear XR500 and XR700.

What would this link on Google Chrome be? Set to Edge but will see it on next router reset.
Traffic priority and on Game console disabled Duma OS games and Work from home (which do not detect any Playstation 5 traffic).
Packs not detect only in online match, as it flashes in the Dream Team and Football Divisions menu and when searching for online opponent before finding the server.
For example, if in the game console post I open all UDP TCP ports from 1 to 65365, the red dots are always active, detecting the traffic.
Uao LAN cable in DMZ fixed ip Playstation 5 without UPNP.
For example, if you remain in automatic ping host without touching the mouse, you exit the login (this problem seems correct on firmware 1.0.0.68 but I'm not sure). Investigate. Thank you.

  1. "Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Settings
  3. Click Show advanced settings and find the "Privacy" section.
  4. Deselect the "Use a web service to help resolve navigation errors" checkbox to disable the feature. Select the checkbox to enable it again."

Can you provide a screenshot of your full QoS page please?

That's due to a timeout, not much we can do about that really.

It might be because you've changed the LAN IP potentially but accessing directly using the IP should work if HTTPS is disabled.

Does the IP on the PlayStation itself match the IP you think the device is on the Device Manager?

Fixed ip I have on Playstation 5 and corresponds to device manager.
Yes, I changed lan ip from 10.0.0.1 to 192.168.2.1 and DHCP starts from 192.168.2.50
I enter the router after the initial configuration in http not in https.
But in traffic priority setting TCP UDP from 1 to 65365 which i use the dmz is better than game console? Or do you need to open separate destination ports? Isn't it better to prioritize all TCP and UDP ports?

When you fix the geofilter for eFootball.
On the Swiss server delimiting the Italy area and the Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam servers, he finds me as Turkish, Arab and Greek opponents. Few Italians. Success after a big eFootball update.
Improved ping heatmap on eFootball that doesn't give the right ping value by comparing it from the command prompt to the server's ip.

We can't influence which players connect to the servers but as long as you have a good connection to the server you'll have the best experience possible.

The pings won't always match, it won't make a difference, you'll take the same route to the game server
