Ok, that's probably the problem, to get higher download speeds for games, it's best to use an RJ45 connection! https://www.amazon.fr/Adaptateur-LAN-pour-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01N6S068R/ref=asc_df_B01N6S068R/?tag=googshopfr-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=194966881588&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=10308036997109177718&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9055359&hvtargid=pla-292214180359&th=1 Or at worst bring your switch closer to your wifi access... doordiegs
So my Nintendo Switch is only downloading at 14kbps because I'm connected to the Netduma R2 wirelessly? That doesn't make much sense. My original question was how to increase the download speed without connecting an ethernet cable. I'm getting 340mbps..does it need to be prioritized, etc. Appreciate the reply but it doesn't seem like you know how to help. I won't be purchasing anything through an afflink while trying to receive support. Perhaps Netduma Fraser or someone else will be able to reply with knowledge? The N switch is supposed to have an AC wifi with a download speed with the R2 at 300Mbps, if you download only at 14 Kbps... the problem is either a QOS setting or something else! Started by disabling the QoS at the R2 level!...
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 16, 2023 Administrators Share Posted May 16, 2023 Are other devices connected via WiFi to the R2 receiving higher speeds from speedtest.net? Have you made any specific settings for the Switch on the R2? Are ALL devices connected to the R2? Have you set your expected speeds in Bandwidth settings? doordiegs
Hi Fraser, First of all thanks for never taking a day off! I just set my bandwidth speeds. I had some trouble during the last update. I am getting 209 mbps from speedtest on my phone via R2 wifi. Hardwired laptop 369. I haven't made any settings for the Switch. Bought the new Zelda edition and am doing the system update via wifi. Has over 400 minutes to go with 15 kbps.
doordiegs
The Nintendo Switch connection test says I"m getting 4kbps download and 95 kbps upload
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted May 16, 2023 Administrators Share Posted May 16, 2023 Haha thank you, my day off is tomorrow but sshh don't tell anyone! Is the Switch new or is this an issue that has just happened etc? Try these suggestions and see if you notice better performance: Disable Mirror Mode, give 2.4/5GHz different names and apply - you'll want to connect to 5GHz specifically for speeds (you may want to reboot from the interface after this change) Use a WiFi analyzer to find the least congested channel and change to that Experiment with the widths to see what gives better results Ensure it's in an elevated position - not on a metal surface Ensure there aren't any electrical / wireless devices e.g headphones etc within close proximity ~3 feet if possible Set the antennae to this position _ | | _
