Having weird connection problems with EA server located (Sweden) almost 2 years I am living in Riga, Latvia -/+ 400 km away from server but somehow routing trying to connect to Central EU server in Germany what is 2000km away. Try to block but still if i connect SWE server ping is 40-50 but have to be around 12-15. Contacted many times with ISP they saying everything is working on they not blocking straight connection with servers. What i noticed mostly its depends of Public IP sometimes gives 30 ping sometimes 50 ping best times 12 but that like lottery maybe someone know what is problem. Two points to note first: You can't directly trace/ping most game servers, that's why yours is timing out We can't change the route your packets take to servers that's completely down to the ISP Can you provide a screenshot of your Geo-Filter page please? Thanks for that, the server is definitely in Sweden so nothing on the Geo-Filter side causing a high ping or anything, unfortunately ISP routing is outside our abilities so it's just something you'll need to try and talk to them about more Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted April 20, 2023 Administrators Share Posted April 20, 2023 This makes more sense, IPs are sold all the time to different countries, for example, an IP that was previously Australian could be sold and now used in the UK. However, the databases which hold the locations of the IPs are not always up to date. So what I suspect is happening is that you're getting IPs that were previously used in another country but haven't been updated, hence they route you through the old location and thus it increases your ping. Your current ping for example shows Latvia as the location. So when you change your IP use a site to check the location of it, if it's not close enough change it again etc and once you've got a good one don't change it or reboot etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Ritchey_LV_23 Posted April 21, 2023 Author Share Posted April 21, 2023 Probably, but still thats really weird because SWE server have ips range 13.49.126.1-30 only last nr changes, but when i get good ip 1 game ex. with 13.49.126.15 have 12 ms ping next game i play same location server but ex. 13.49.126.17 with ping 33 ms. The only way I can think of currently that might help other than using a VPN as you mentioned is to obtain a static IP from the ISP (they may charge for this), if we assume that this is a premium service they provide then it is likely that they will give you an IP that is correctly located in your country and then you may get better routing to servers within your country. Might be worth exploring it and asking what IP you would get (they might not be able to tell you right away) and then you could check its location before proceeding. Few days ago fixed my EA connection problem with ping (50ms was now 15ms ) Tried 2nd time VPN but diffrent (NORDVPN) and worked but now i have different problem. Lot of times when i try to play NHL and logging EA server its not let me in that started few weeks ago still have this issue. Sometimes need spam retry 15-20min to get in but when use cable straight to ISP getaway no problem get in only 50ms ping Tried DMZ, portforward, DNS but still unconsistent maybe u guys know how to fixit Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
