Netduma R2 only getting 100mbps on a 400Mbps plan

Hi all,

I bought my R2 about 3 months ago. I was getting around 400mbps when I first installed it but now I'm only getting right below 100mbps. When I plug my PC directly into my modem I will get the 400mbs. I've tried different ethernet cables and did a factory reset on both devices. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Thanks very much for the photos, so it looks like the internet port and a LAN port are limited to 100Mbits which will be where the issue is coming from, try a different cable connecting the R2 to the modem and another for your LAN port and see if you get faster speeds then.

I also tested the cable directly from the Modem to the PC and it does get the full 400mbps direct.

With every different cable you tried, did the Internet port still show at 100Mbps in Device Manager? For example, if you swap the cable that's currently in port 3, and use that as the cable between the modem and the R2, do you still get the same issue?

Correct. I used the cable plugged into port 3 (1000mbps) and swapped it with the cable that was between the router and modem. That 1000mbps cable showed up as 100mbps for the internet port in Device Manager.

Could it be that the port is bad or maybe a software issue?

It may be that the port is limited to 100mbps if the switching it for a known good cable didn't work.

One last thing: Could you try disconnecting the WAN cable, then factory reset. Then after 5 or so minutes, set it up again. When it says it couldn't detect a connection (because there's no WAN cable connected) click WAN setup and skip past this. Once you're on the dashboard, plug the WAN cable in again and watch Device Manager. Does it still show 100mbps?

I have enabled remote access but I could not find a DMZ function on my modem. I have an Arris SB8200.

Thank you, that's a pure modem so that's fine, did you make this post while connected to the R2? Reason being we can see the IP address you used to post so if that's correct we'll use that on Monday to connect.

Here's the most updated one just to make sure.

Thanks for that! As we have some time until Monday can you sign up for Early Access here: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/39415-introducing-early-access/ then when approved upgrade to the firmware in the Early Access sub forum, followed by a reset and see whether it's resolved please?
