SUPERCAR
hi guys, i have a question. I have a 1gb connection and if I use my isp's modem I get 850 megs and 480 uploads. If instead I connect the ONT directly to the netduma R2 (ONT> R2) I get a maximum of 500 megs and 200 megs in upload. I have tried everything, disabled QoS from the drop down menu, adblocker etc etc. The connection is in PPPoe. I would like to understand if it is a firmware problem or I don't know (I am updated to the latest version). To take away any question I have tried the same configuration with the netgear XR500 and I get the correct speeds. Speed tests are done by the windows CLI. So I am not referring to the automatic detection or the benchmark.I forgot the cables are cat6 replaced recently. I thank you for your help. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 10, 2022 Administrators Share Posted October 10, 2022 How are you performing the test via CLI exactly, using iperf? What do you get using speedtest.net? It's quite possibly due to PPPoE, if you put the XR500 in front of the R2 to handle PPPoE instead and have the R2 behind it what do you get then? SUPERCAR
hello fraser. So to answer the first question about the CLI I write speedtest -s and the server.Using speedtest.net is the same. As for the second question I have not tried. I just tried again and with the netduma I detect a maximum of 500 megs in down and 300 in up and I even lose packets. Instead connecting with the isp modem 860 mega down and 480 up with 0 lost packets. the point is I wanted to try to use only ONT> R2 in pppoe to make the best use of DumaOS 3.0, since the netduma is only a router and not a modem / router. The strange thing is that if I use ONT> XR500 in pppoe I always get the correct speeds from the CLI. If I have a pppoe problem , why does the XR500 detect the correct speed and R2 does not? The router configurations are correct as I know enough about the internet so I don't think it's a configuration problem. Thank you for your help. We believe there may be an issue with the R2s throughput when it comes to PPPoE. Hence why Fraser suggested using the XR500 to handle this. You can then disable any and all DumaOS features on the XR500 and configure all of this on the R2 if that's what you'd rather use. Just be sure to put the R2s WAN IP in the DMZ of the XR500, you can find this setting in Settings -> Setup -> WAN Setup -> Default DMZ server. Test your throughputs then through the R2 and it should all be good.

Where are you testing the speeds? Are ALL devices connected to the R2?
