Exia Posted September 22, 2022 Posted September 22, 2022 I have a gigabyte connection which is the best router to get . R2 , XR500 or the XR1000? Also is it true that XR1000 still have no support for VPN?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted September 22, 2022 Administrators Posted September 22, 2022 Hey, welcome to the forum! It really depends on what you want, for software focused consumers we recommend the R2 and for hardware focused consumers we recommend the XR range. The 500 has AC WiFi whereas the 1000 has AX WiFI. Yes currently the XR1000 does not have HybridVPN but it's something we're working on bringing to the platform. Exia 1
william1987 Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 i would recommend r2 because netduma are faster with support like update netgear are so slow on that

Exia Posted October 2, 2022 Author Posted October 2, 2022 All is good but seems like my Proton Vpn can't connect it shows failed instead any idea why?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2022 Administrators Posted October 2, 2022 Can you provide the config you're using please?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2022 Administrators Posted October 2, 2022 Try this instead please: [Interface] Address= 10.2.0.2 PrivateKey= *** ListenPort =51820 dns = 10.2.0.1 [Peer] PublicKey= n/idwelCXImEAeK314La1IwXp23P1FeGbiI7GrvudGg= AllowedIPs =0.0.0.0/0 Endpoint = 45.152.182.130:51820
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2022 Administrators Posted October 2, 2022 When you generated the config on proton, was DumaOS specifically an option under router?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2022 Administrators Posted October 2, 2022 Could you try disabling all the additional options, then try with that config (also provide it here) as well as making one for linux with all the options disabled and provide it here as well please?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 2, 2022 Administrators Posted October 2, 2022 Could you do a reboot of the router, wait 2 minutes and then try the router config I posted previously again please?
Exia Posted October 4, 2022 Author Posted October 4, 2022 reboot & tried ur config & it still fail, maybe it does not support proton Vpn

Are you able to download OpenVPN files from Proton instead of WireGuard files and use these for your VPN instead?
Exia Posted October 4, 2022 Author Posted October 4, 2022 i see , i did tried copy paste the config of OpenVPN file yet it still fail to connect
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 4, 2022 Administrators Posted October 4, 2022 Could you provide the OpenVPN config you're using please?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 4, 2022 Administrators Posted October 4, 2022 Remove all but one of the remote lines then retry it please
Exia Posted October 5, 2022 Author Posted October 5, 2022 Tried that still won't work. Hopefully other vpn service works

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted October 6, 2022 Administrators Posted October 6, 2022 That's with the Advanced Setup? It's saying about the address but in the config you gave it's not using an address like that
Exia Posted October 14, 2022 Author Posted October 14, 2022 sorry been busy, tried everything ntg works hopefully wireguard VPN works in the next update . I do have a question in geo filter what if i put my home location in a different country will it find games server on that location?
