Valerio
Hello. i switched to a netduma r2 router recently. I reconfigured the house to connect it to the netduma wifi network. all devices work fine. for convenience I have divided the 2.4 and 5ghz wifi network of the router by calling them in 2 different ways in order to create the home automation wifi network for the home. unfortunately the only device that doesn't work well is the google nest hub2. tells me Something Went Wrong to Try Again In A Few Seconds. if I try again after a few seconds it works. i tried to connect it to both 5ghz and 2.4ghz network. unfortunately the result does not change. i also tried to move google hub 2 location but to no avail. surely it is some setting to make of the router. could someone help me? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 26, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 26, 2022 Hey, welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you're having this issue. Could you try making a Guest 2.4GHz WiFi network and just connecting the Nest to that and see if it works first time please?
Valerio
hello I did the procedure you suggested and the google nest hub connected to the guest network and on first use it worked fine. but i did a test after a few minutes and comq told me there was a problem. try again in a few seconds. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 26, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 26, 2022 Interesting, could you disable IPv6 in LAN & WAN, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and then see if that resolves it please?
Valerio
hi I deactivated IPV6, saved the configuration and restarted the modem .. but I had no connection in any device. I reactivated the IPV6, restarted the modem and the connection came back. I noticed that when I try to access streaming content from my smartphone (disney, sky go, netflix prime video) it takes a long time to access the content and sometimes it gives me an error ... I think the same thing happens to Google nest hub only that after a while he goes into time out ... it is very frustrating .. I find it very complicated the netduma r2
Valerio
i was able to connect online with ipv6 off. google nest hub continues to have a significant delay and in some cases it gives me the usual problem of trying again later
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 26, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 26, 2022 Could you forget the WiFi network on the Nest hub, then re-set it up and only have it connect to 2.4GHz - have your phone use the same when setting up and see if its better after that please
Valerio
hello I had just done this operation that you described. I deleted the device and reconfigured with the ipv6 off in the 2.4 ghz network ... nothing has changed. I am attaching the benchmarks of my line
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 26, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 26, 2022 By deleted device are you referring to the Device Manager? Did you forget the WiFi network on the hub and re-set it up with the WiFi as though you were doing it the first time? You'll definitely want to experiment with Congestion Control to get Ping Under Load down for the Upload, in fact it could actually be contributing to the issue as its quite significant. Valerio
hi i have reset google nest hub to factory settings and paired to wifi 2.4. but i still have problems. what can i do with congestion control? Can ping under load contribute to Google nest time out?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 27, 2022 If for example there is a lot of traffic happening on the network when you're trying to connect the Nest then depending on what ping they determine as the limit before timing out then that could be a factor yes. For Congestion Control we usually suggest setting to Always and lowering the download and upload percentages to 70%. Could you do that, then run another Connection Benchmark test and post the results please?
Valerio
I tried to reduce the loads on the line a bit and I deactivated ipv6 from the main modem (from my Fastweb intrnet provider with fastgate modem)
Valerio
but it is very unstable

Valerio
my xbox x series had moderate nat type I opened the ports that suggested call of duty and I set the IP client DMZ of my main modem (fastgate) the IP of the console. is the procedure correct or should I set the netduma r2 router in the dmz client of the modem? Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 27, 2022 The last screenshot is a lot better for Upload, so change download a bit to get that initial spike down and it will be much improved. You should put the R2 WAN IP (found in the System Information page) in the modem DMZ. Once you've done all that see if the Nest works better. Valerio
I lowered the download rate in QoS a bit. i plugged ip wan r2 into my modem. I redid the test and this is the result. under load the upload pind continues to fluctuate and be very high. is that a problem?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 27, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 27, 2022 Could you provide a screenshot of your QoS page please? That may help to identify what needs to be done. Are ALL devices connected to the R2?
Valerio
I followed the official guide on youtube. could it be that my netduma is faulty?

Netduma Liam
Could you please disable the "Work from home" rule in Traffic Prioritisation then retest and double check that's not causing problem? When you're running the Connection Benchmark, what other activity is there on the network? Are any devices streaming anything? It'd be best to do these tests with a little other network activity as possible to ensure accurate results.

Is this currently configured on the R2?
