WarriorsVault
Just unboxed the R2 and connected everything as I would any other router. Followed the steps in the OS but unable to connect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Anyone have a solution?
Netduma Liam
Welcome to the forum! After completing the setup wizard, could you quickly reboot the R2 from the interface and see if it can establish a connection after that?
WarriorsVault
I’ve reset it a few times. I connected my other router and it establishes connection. Tried the R2 again and even after the setup Wi-Fi and Ethernet has no connection. I assumed it was a plug in play however I’m not sure why it doesn’t detect internet connection
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 15, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 15, 2022 Hey, welcome to the forum! Do you know if you require PPPoE, VLAN or DHCP 60/61/identifiers in order to get a connection? What is the model of the modem/router the R2 is connected to? WarriorsVault
The modem is a Hitron E31N2V1 Docsis 3.1. I am unsure of PPPoE, VLAN or DHCOP. Think the modem could be the issue?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 15, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 15, 2022 We have seen some people have issues with that particular modem in the past, do you have another you can try with?
WarriorsVault
Unfortunately I do not. We’re they able to find a workaround to allow the R2 to work with that specific modem? Possibly contact my provider to see about allowing that router to access the modem?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted March 15, 2022 Administrators Share Posted March 15, 2022 It can work, it usually just takes a few tries initially. Sometimes the order the devices are booted can make a difference so have the R2 connected to the modem, reboot the modem, wait 2 minutes, reboot the R2 from the interface, wait 2 minutes then see if it gets a connection. WarriorsVault
I tried setting up in the order described and still no connection. Wi-Fi gives the option to disconnect as if it is connected to something but there is no internet.

Are you able to connect that as before, and then connect the R2 to the old router? See if you then get access through the R2.
