Can’t find lobbies or join parties via Xbox app

Hello, I just got my Netduma R2 and I’ve been very excited to start using it!

I play on PC and use the Xbox gamebar to communicate with my friends via Xbox party.
The very first problem I ran into after installing my R2 was that I was unable to join or invite any of my friends into a party chat. After sometime I realized the issue was having my geofilter turned on. Once I turned that off I was able to join party chat with my friends. So that’s the first issue.
The Second issue is I have been unable to find lobbies on my own ever since I installed my R2. I know I’m an idiot, but this has been such a difficult process when it comes to actually playing games now. I’ve watched countless videos, I’ve been reading the forums, and nothing suffices. I’ve had my R2 for two days as I type this, and I have not been able to connect to one lobby. I don’t know what I’m doing and I’m ready to give up and ship it back which is not what I want to do. Can someone please help this idiot out. Thank you.

Thank you, Liam!

And even after disabling geo-filter, I cannot connect to a lobby.
So far I’ve been trying to play Warzone and I’ve been trying to play solo matches.

How is your PC connected to the R2, via wired or wireless?

Is your PC having any other issues with connectivity, or are any other games having trouble?

Could you try removing the device profile from Geo-filter completely by clicking 'Delete' just under the filtering mode toggle, then reboot the game and retest?

My pc is connected to the R2 via CAT8 Ethernet cable.

And so far it has just been warzone that I have difficulties finding lobbies. I have removed the device completely from the Geo-Filter and attempted to find a lobby but still no luck.

That is odd, without the Geo-Filter enabled there is no restriction preventing you getting games - is it happening across all playlists or specific ones?

Yes, it is happening across all playlists.

Could you please connect the PC directly to your modem and see if you're able to get into a game then?

If you are, connect back to the R2 and go to QoS. In the three-line menu in Congestion Control, completely disable QoS and test again.

Okay, I did that and still not finding lobbies.

To clarify, you still weren't able to find games direct to the modem or you did and the disabling QoS option didn't resolve it on the R2?

I’m sorry, I should’ve clarified. I connected straight to my modem and found lobbies without any issues.
I then reconnected to the R2, disabled the QoS option, and still have not found a lobby.

No worries, thanks! What firmware version are you on currently? Since installing the router for the first time what settings did you adjust specifically?

I’m running the most recent update for the R2, and after performing a factory reset after the update, I did not mess with any settings. Other than disabling the QoS as you mentioned yesterday.

That's really weird as I can't think of any settings that are enabled by default that would cause this - is this the only connection issue you're having or are you having any other issues with the internet?

What is the modem model exactly? In WAN Settings disable the protection options - they can sometimes drop packets so maybe that could be causing it. If that doesn't work make a Traffic Controller rule and allow ALL traffic to the device and see if it can connect then.

I do apologize, but I am an idiot sir, and i'm not sure how to do what you're requesting. Is there someway I can contact you live and you can personally walk me through this and maybe then you can in real time what might be the problem?

As we're a small company that's not something we can do but basically in Network Settings, on the big WAN panel have it set like this:

image.png

and on the Traffic Controller page, click add rule, give it a name, select the device, all traffic is selected by default so just click next, bottom right drop down should say allow, then click done and see if there is a difference.

Okay, I followed the instructions and now I can't connect to xbox parties and I've been disconnected from the internet even though it says i'm connected. Nothing will load.

Did you disable IPv6 by any chance? You do have an IPv6 address so if you disabled it then that's why that occurred so reboot the router and you should have internet or you can re-enable IPv6 on both LAN/WAN

I fixed the issue and now have internet access again.

I can now play one the Rebirth Island playlist on warzone, but I still cannot play the regular warzone playlist. As it searched for a lobby, the ping is getting higher as it searches for a lobby. I've been waiting to find a lobby for approximately 3min as I type this and the ping that it's searching for is <91ms

Great! Where abouts are you located? A lot of people are reporting fast/low ping Rebirth games but longer higher ping BR games, even using other routers, are you in the West of the US?

Yes, I’m located on the west coast. Southern California.

That is consistent with what others have said, seems like for some reason the servers there seem to be offline and its forcing people to the East servers. Unfortunately there isn't anything we can do about that if the servers aren't available.
