Double NAT on Xbox Series S after R2 3.0.394 firmware update and factory reset

I have been using the Netduma R2 for almost 2 years and the Xbox series S has been working fine (mostly play Halo infinite). However, after I updated the firmware to R2 3.0.394 and did the factory reset as suggested in the post here, I keep getting double NAT and am unable to play Halo online.

I tried rebooting and port forwarding as shown below but I still can't get back to open NAT. Please help!!!

Hey, welcome to the forum!

Upgrading firmware wouldn't change your NAT status, it is highly likely it is a false reading, also due to the recent Halo updates you can no longer use the Geo-Filter for the game unfortunately. I suspect if you disable the Geo-Filter that will resolve the false NAT reading and you'll be able to play Halo.

I do not have the geo filter enabled. Prior to doing the factory reset I had ports forwarded for apex legends on PS4, but I don’t remember which ports. I had zero issues prior to doing a factory reset.

Immediately following the factory reset I was unable to play halo online, the only thing I changed was forwarding the Xbox ports for Halo. After repeatedly testing NAT in the Xbox network settings it will eventually switch to “open type” but every time I turn on my Xbox it defaults to double NAT.

What is the model of the modem/router the R2 is connected to? Have you put it in modem mode or put the R2 in its DMZ? If you did the DMZ option then the IP of the R2 probably changed and you would have to redo the DMZ and then you can get an Open NAT

The modem/router is "Fios-G1100.

No I have not put it in modem mode or the R2 in it's DMZ. I am not sure how to do that.

Copy the WAN IP on the R2 System Information page then go to the G1100 interface and look for the DMZ option - it may be in LAN, Security or Firewall then paste the IP in and apply, then see if the NAT is open then

Ok and once I do that, should I remove the ports I forwarded?

You shouldn't need any ports forward so you could remove them but see if you get an Open NAT with them first before removing otherwise you may have to re-add them

I added the R2 to the DMZ and the xbox says I have an open NAT but when I load halo it still says I'm offline and it won't load the online multiplayer. I did a speed test on the xbox and everything was normal.

Glad to hear you have an Open NAT now! Have a look at this for the offline issue and see if they resolve it: https://www.gamerevolution.com/guides/698143-halo-infinite-offline-error-fix-multiplayer

No you don't need to enable the DMZ in LAN Settings on the R2

One more question, if I have my netduma in my modems DMZ and the xbox/halo ports forwarded, should I have the DumaOS classified games in traffic prioritization toggled on? I currently have that setting toggled off.

If you have the R2 in the modem's DMZ, go ahead and remove any port forwarding rules, you won't need those.

I'd also suggest keeping the DumaOS classified games rules toggled on, this means your game traffic will be prioritised over other background traffic on the network.
