NetDumaNewb
Hi y’all, Recently I’ve to restart my modem daily because of very laggy gameplay.(on vpn) At first I didn’t need to restart at all. but now even after reset I have a terrible connection. On both WiFi (without vpn) and LAN on vpn.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 10, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 10, 2022 You will have higher latency on VPN so that is normal. Your upload speed looks very low there, what are your QoS settings? What is the modem/router the R2 is connected to? Are ALL devices connected to the R2? NetDumaNewb
yeah latency with usually 50 to 70, without 20/30. But lately I been spiking from 100 to 250. No because the R2 WiFi is really shit its connected to the old WiFi. I’ve put your recommendations for the QoS

Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 10, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 10, 2022 What speeds do you pay for specifically? If not all devices are connected then QoS won't be as effective. As in without the VPN it's been spiking from 20/30 to 100-250? How many devices are connected to the R2 vs ISP router? There was 1 mobile phone connected to the ISP router, but she’s been gone for a while now. Everything is connected to the NetDuma. Yes I connected on the NetDuma WiFi with my PlayStation and it was very spikey and worse than when connected to my ISP WiFi I pay for 500 GB download
NetDumaNewb
I now complained at my ISP and they have send me two WiFi boosters. Let’s see what that changes. Netduma Liam

NetDumaNewb
A video of the lag I have to deal with. I’m connected to the NetDuma R2 WiFi. Latency spikes from 35 to NA/999/800/600 and back to 43 +/- no vpn is ran on my WiFi. I’m playing 3M away from my router, the WiFi boosters are connected by lan cable IMG_3336.MOV
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted February 21, 2022 Administrators Share Posted February 21, 2022 The video isn't working, can you upload it elsewhere and then link it here please?

Is it working now? I've reached a point that my PlayStation cannot connect to the LAN, only to WiFi which is suuuuper unstable spiking from 33 latency to 999 for 3 seconds and then back to 33-45... I will now remove the VPN from my LAN, and see if that resolves the network issue
Netduma Liam
No, we'll need you to upload it elsewhere, then send a link to it. We can view it in the manner you've currently uploaded it. Let us know if removing the VPN helps, there's a good chance it will to be fair.
