Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 6, 2022 Administrators Share Posted January 6, 2022 There is no specific reason a singular device would suffer disconnections and not others. Did you try it direct to the modem and see if you had the same issues?
Greenleaf
Yep! I did that same thing and it’s still doing it. At this point I am getting in contact with AT&T and see if they can send me a new modem. I have a feeling it’s the modem that i currently have. Hopefully that will fix the problem. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 6, 2022 Administrators Share Posted January 6, 2022 That is a bit sus then! It could be the network adapter on your PC also, keep us posted!
Greenleaf
Ok so I tested everything, and it's definitely not my network card, I also bought a wifi adapter to see if it worked without disconnecting and I did encounter the same issue with disconnecting me while playing video games (WoW & CoD). At this point I'm no even sure what to do, Would doing a factory reset on the xr500 possibly reset and fix this issue with the disconnecting? I'm also going to see if AT&T will send me a new modem/router, maybe the one I have is crap.
Greenleaf
Would maybe even having IKEv2 vpn protocol enabled possibly cause these disconnects to occur? Or maybe having high latency while gaming possibly disconnect me?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted January 8, 2022 Administrators Share Posted January 8, 2022 A factory reset is always a good idea if all other troubleshooting steps have failed so do give it a try. Using a VPN adds another aspect to your connection, if a VPN server goes down for whatever reason you would be disconnected, if your ping exceeds what the game deems are a reasonable ping for a game then you could be kicked from the game if it increases during the match - are you using a VPN on the PC then? If so I would suggest disabling that first before you do a factory reset and see if it makes a difference.
