XR1000 Disconnecting LAN Xbox Series X

Hi, Wonder if anyone can help. My XR1000 will not keep a wired connection to the Series X. WiFi at 2.4 & 5Ghz is fine but as soon as wired connection is used there is a disconnect every 5 to 10 mins.. Logs attached.

That's strange, could you please try reserving an IP address for the Series X and see if it's then able to maintain a stable connection?

So far so good. Unusual why that would fix the issue.. 

 

Spoke to soon. Dropping as usual with fixed IP. Very annoying lol. Never did this with my Asus AC88U

Change the DHCP start range to .50 instead of .2 then ensure the Xbox IP is within .2 - .49 if it isn't already, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes then connect and see if it works

Still the same issue. Alouth now less frequently.

Cant seems to track down why...

Getting this in logs at every disconnect

That doesn't really hint at a cause of the issue I'm afraid. Was this the time that the xbox lost connection?

Just to rule out the simple things, could you confirm whether trying a different ethernet cable or a different LAN port help with the issue at all?

LAN port and cable changed. No Change

Yes these are the connection drop times

I have just added all series x ports to forwarding to see if that helps.

Less frequently with these tweaks but at least once every 40 mins to 1 hour. Roughly a game length on Battlefield 2042

Is the console using manual or automatic network settings? Are there any settings you've changed for the Xbox on the router or otherwise?

Changed all to manual now. Originally was just a fixed IP on router.

Playing for the next hour or two so I'll keep my fingers crossed ☺️

Don't use manual, use automatic instead and try it. It's very strange it's just the Xbox, there is nothing specifically on the router that could cause that.

Tested and no change. Same on all ports with any cable....

Could you test with the Xbox directly connected to the ISP modem/router and see if the same issue occurs please? That would narrow it down a little.

Will do first thing in the morning. It's very unlikely to change anything though as the modem is briged and does not control any network functions. And the Xbox was fine wired to the Asus AC88U.. the only new network component is the XR1000..

All other wired connections stay stable.. very odd

It could be the bridge mode doesn't work well with the router for some reason, let us know your results and we can go from there

Not gotten around to connection direct to modem. However I have tried putting the Xbox into the DMZ and that keeps a stable connection. Obviously a temporary measure as it doesn't have prioritisation whilst in the DMZ.. but it's works

Should still prioritize but technically it wouldn't need it as much in DMZ as all traffic goes to it

Will geo filtering work in DMZ?.. just don't like the idea of this being the solution...

Yes it will. Although generally not recommended to use the DMZ that's more aimed at PCs, it's much safer for a console.

Well I've officially had it with this router. Going back to the Asus AC88U. It can't keep a stable wired connection at all even in DMZ. Anyone looking for a XR1000 send me a PM.

Could you disable the Geo-Filter if you're using it please and see if it works? I'm wondering if the disconnection is you actually getting kicked from a game because the Geo-Filter is doing its job and blocking servers outside your radius. If it's happening while in game and you're playing CoD for example the host could change to one outside your radius.
