Bert
So after doing some tests on PFSense vs XR500 / DumaOS anti bufferbloat I had a bunch of issues where the XR500 didn't regulate speed down to the set level. XR500 Latest firmware .130 PPPoE connection - No VLAN tagging I tried Speedtest.net, speedtest.corecasys.com and waveform bufferbloat, captured traffic by wireshark and all these seem to use IPv6 as medium over IPv4. As soon as I disable IPv6 on my networkadapter it defaults to IPv4 and everything works as it should. And enable IPv6 again, restart browser and it's back to not working. This is a huge issue since IPv6 is becoming more common and common. But also, Youtube, Netflix and a bunch of other streaming services are already using Ipv6 by default, and IPv4 as backup. So when a user on a low bandwidth connection is experiencing ping spikes while buffering video's and can't figure out why, it may be that IPv6 is enabled on their system and that is the cause of it. This is something that should be looked at IMHO as running IPv4 only will not bother most people at this point but more and more systems are adopting IPv6. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 19, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 19, 2021 Thanks for the report, I believe we are aware of this but I'll pass it onto the team to make sure they test this for the next firmware
Bert
I tried my XR700 as well running the .34 DumaOS beta and that works fine. That is running DHCP with dual stack IPv4/IPv6. While my XR500 is connected to a fiber connection via PPPoE and this is CGNAT, so native IPv6 with a IPv4 tunnel.
