Matthias93
Hello, I want an open nat on my xbox and I own a R2 and a Speedport smart 3. I have a 500 mbit glasfiber connection. I want to put the speedport into dsl modem mode, which is possible and then I want to connect the R2 to my Speedport and set it up. If I do so the R2 tells me that it couldn't find an internet connection. My setup before was speedport smart 3 as router + R2 as router behind it but of course I got the double nat issue. The Speedport smart 3 doesn't have a dmz option. Anyone knows what to do? the internet provider telekom can't help at all. Greetings, Matthias
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 10, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 10, 2021 Hey, welcome to the forum! You can do the modem option, then I would suggest rebooting the modem, wait 2 minutes, reboot the R2, wait 2 minutes then you should have internet. Matthias93
Thanks, I need to try it like that. But should I reset the r2 before I do that and use the setup wizzard or is there a better option?
Matthias93
I tried out what you suggested and also tried it out with a factory reset on the R2. Both times it didn't work. both times I get the same error fromt the R2 and can't set it up. Btw I connected the R2 to LAN Port 4 on the Speedport in modem mode since the Speedport suggests me to do so but I also tried the other 3 ports and they all don't work for the netduma. anything that I could try out now? Matthias93
I also have the thing below from my Internet provider which looks to me like a glasfiber modem but if I connect the R2 directly to it I'm also unable to get an internet connection. Edit: According to my provider this thing is indeed a modem and it should allow me to connect the netduma to it but it doesn't work, I get the same error as above. Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 10, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 10, 2021 Do you know if you need PPPoE, VLAN or DHCP Indentifiers (e.g. DHCP Option 61) to get internet?
Matthias93
No I don't know that. How can I find it out?

You would need to contact the ISP, the information may be on the speedport interface so check there first
Matthias93
according to my ISP I can only connect routers to the modem which are able to get a PPoe connection and support VLAN7 connections.
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 10, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 10, 2021 Okay so you'll need to enter their PPPoE details and 7 for VLAN in WAN settings. Click WAN Setup on the wizard then skip through until you get to the interface, then you can enter the details in.
Matthias93
do you mean in here? where to put the vlan 7 Information? and what from my Informations is the username, the password and the service?
Administrators Netduma Fraser Posted December 10, 2021 Administrators Share Posted December 10, 2021 Yes that's right, your ISP will have the PPPoE information. You'll need to upgrade to this version to use VLAN https://forum.netduma.com/topic/38047-new-r2-firmware-30394/
