It's really up to you, with 1Gbps it isn't as necessary but it can still be very helpful, especially in this day and age where we use more and more bandwidth. I'd still suggest you do a Benchmark test and find out what percentages lower Ping Under Load as much as possible. Then you could have it apply only when gaming.
